I had a great experience working with this law firm. They initially helped me file for divorce and guided me through what felt like a very difficult and stressful time. What truly impressed me was their professionalism, patience, understanding, and balanced advice throughout the process. The team handled everything quickly, respectfully, and with the utmost professionalism. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone looking for knowledgeable, efficient, and compassionate legal support.

Going through a divorce is never easy or enjoyable. But, I honestly enjoyed working with Michael and Missy. They are both so personable and kind. Having talks with Missy and following her lead was so easy and doable. In such a time, it’s very comforting to feel understood and confident in the process. Both made me feel just that. I would recommend Michael and Missy to guide you through the process. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Tammy Potter

It was a pleasure to work with the team at the Vancouver office for Pacific cascade legal. Michael Trotter was an awesome attorney and helped me through my case. I couldn’t recommend them. Recommend them enough if you have the need for an attorney Michael Trotter is your guy.

If you are in the military and are attempting to find a fair route for a divorce, these guys are who you should call first. From being half a world away and on deployment until I got home they made everything easy and were very understanding about my connectivity issues. Missy is completely outstanding from my experiences over email and phone and I would recommend Michael and Missy again.

Response from owner

Dennis, we appreciate your thoughtful words for Missy and Michael. Supporting you through distance and deployment was truly important to us.

After two long years pacific cascade legal helped me out of a very messy divorce. It was very concerning when they switched atourneys on me multiple times and I concidered leaving them, but I was eventually assigned to Andy kralios and he handled everything like a champ. I did communicate with Jeanette Cordova quite a bit and she was so empathetic and a Rockstar through the whole thing. It did cost quite a bit but, it was a messy divorce and you cant put a price on your child's safety. They both got me a very favorable outcome.

We had a very straightforward case, residential schedule changes due to a parent’s relapse and Cascade Pacific completely mishandled it. Michael Trotter represented my significant other specifically and showed little attention to impotant details or safeguards we requested, communication was almost non-existent unless we repeatedly called or emailed his paralegal, Jeannette Cordova. She was consistently snarky, condescending, and lacked all empathy. Given the high stress of trying to protect your children, you’d expect some level of understanding but you won’t find it here. We had to reach out repetivley for updates before or after hearings, and we were charged multiple times for revisions to our residential proposal. The kicker? The revisions were only necessary because Jeanette and Micheal made random changes to the requests without asking questions or clarifying details. Instead of taking responsibility, they billed us again to fix their own mistakes. I personally attended our few hearings over zoom, and it was clear that Michael often seemed lost and unfamiliar with the details of our case. He would shuffle papers and frequently say he needed to “ask his client.” That lack of preparation was not only frustrating but deeply concerning given his absence in communication. They would charge us for both Michael and Jeanette’s time simultaneously, often for notes or tasks related to fact finding. It felt like being nickel-and-dimed at every step and at a serious cost ($$) without any real results or even peace of mind to support it. Even after firing a few months ago, the frustration lingers due to a recent hearing, as our case continues. Michael was present in the courtroom awaiting his turn and, in an incredibly unprofessional moment, openly laughed at both parties when confusion arose about next steps. But why would the parties be so confused after paying for services from Pacific Cascade Legal? That behavior perfectly sums up our experience: dismissive, unhelpful, and disrespectful. If you value communication, professionalism, and compassion in such sensitive matters, look elsewhere. **Edit for Cascade legals empty reponse. All I can hope is my review gets seen before people waste their time and money. They charged 10k dollars in less than 3 months for 2 hearings and zero changes. Im glad it took your PR so long to try to dismiss my review, Because in that time I was able to reconnect with our previous lawyer, who is highly reviewed in clark county (Not an Oregon bar situation) He concured that we got duped. Pacific Cascade legal has a poor reputation amoung lawyers and Judges as well. Goodluck to anyone doing their research, like we should have.

Response from owner

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.Because of Oregon State Bar rules, we’re not able to discuss specific details of any client’s case in a public setting like this. Additionally, as this review appears to have been posted on behalf of someone else and does not identify the client we represented, we’re unable to confirm or respond regarding the particular matter described. We want to emphasize that we take concerns about communication, billing, and professionalism very seriously. If the client would like to reach out to us directly, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss their experience and work toward a resolution.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our attorney Michael, legal assistant Jeanette, and assistant Missy! Had a simple document I needed to be reviewed and signed. They were quick to take on the engagement and get me their notes. Alysa was extremely helpful and responsive through the process. There were very minor changes made to the document yet it cost almost as much to review it as it did to have the other firm draft it. So while they did work with me on cost, which I appreciated, it was still a bit expensive for essentially a proofread and signature.

The current legal process of today is vastly different from the personal contact style of years past. It took a while for me to be comfortable with the lack of human interaction. But once I connected with Jeanette Cordova, I felt I was being listened to and became a person whose best interests were being heard. Michael Trotter's conversations gave me a sense that he felt my pain and concern for the issues I faced. His negotiation skills served me well and a satisfactory conclusion was the outcome. The businesslike financial process of Pacific Cascade Family Law is precise and immediate through computer communications. My experience with PCFL really brought me into the 21st Century law process. Thank you all for a successful outcome.

Response from owner

Gloria, we appreciate your thoughtful reflections on connecting with our team and adapting to new processes. Thank you for letting us serve you.

Working with Michael Trotter and Missy Boyd at Pacific Cascade Legal was an absolute game-changer. From the very beginning, they demonstrated a rare combination of professionalism, empathy, and strategic expertise. Michael’s ability to navigate complex legal issues with clarity and confidence made me feel supported every step of the way. His background in family law and advocacy for the underdog truly shines through in his work. Missy Boyd was equally exceptional—organized, responsive, and always one step ahead. She made sure every detail was handled with care and precision, and her communication was consistently clear and reassuring. What impressed me most was how they treated me not just as a client, but as a person. They listened, they cared, and they fought for the best possible outcome. If you're looking for a legal team that blends heart with skill, look no further than Pacific Cascade Legal. Highly recommended!

Response from owner

Michelle, your thoughtful words mean a lot. We're grateful you felt genuinely supported and cared for throughout your time with our team.

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Pacific Cascade Legal, and especially with my attorney, Michael Trotter, and his incredible assistant, Missy. From start to finish, they went above and beyond in every possible way. Michael showed unmatched dedication, professionalism, and legal expertise. He worked long hours, paid attention to every detail, and never once made me feel like just another case. His due diligence and determination were clear in every step of the process. Missy was equally amazing—always responsive, organized, and supportive. Together, they made an outstanding team that I could truly count on during one of the toughest times of my life. Their communication was excellent—I always felt informed and heard. More importantly, I felt genuinely cared for. They understood the emotional weight of what I was going through and brought a level of compassion and humanity that made all the difference. Thanks to their tireless efforts, I received the best possible outcome, and I will forever be grateful for that. Sarah Bain took over my case when my previous attorney suddenly had to quit, and she demonstrated an extreme attention to detail over the complexities of our child custody case. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a good child custody attorney. She seems to understand working with people who may be at-risk of discrimination and stigma.

Response from owner

Sarah Bain’s dedication to complex child custody matters reflects Pacific Cascade Legal’s commitment to attentive, client-centered representation in challenging family law situations.

I had an extremely disappointing and disheartening experience with this law firm. Despite providing extensive documentation of abuse, harassment, and multiple threats to my safety—including a violent attempt to break into my home—the attorney failed to secure a protective order on my behalf. At one of the most vulnerable and frightening times in my life, I expected advocacy, professionalism, and follow-through. Instead, I felt neglected, overcharged, and ultimately unprotected. I would not recommend this firm to anyone seeking serious support in matters of personal safety or domestic violence.

Response from owner

We’re sorry to hear that you felt unsupported during such a difficult time. Because you haven’t provided your name, we’re unable to review your file or the work done on your case, and the Washington State Bar rules prevent us from discussing case-specific details publicly.
