Attorney Padove was incredibly thorough and patient throughout the entire process. He prepared both a will and a power of attorney for my mother-in-law, explaining every detail clearly so we understood all of our options. Final divorce docs had typos, wanted to "get my case over with", not much communication. Will need to pay a separate fee to have a different attorney for a Document Review.

Burton is a life saver. Recently purchased a home in Illinois as a first time homebuyer. We were dealing with a few difficulties with the sellers but Burton had our back! He’s very knowledgeable with his 40 years of experience and had answers to all of our questions. He reviewed all documents and translated pages and pages of documents into normal people language! He was easily accessible through email and phone calls, which fit my busy work schedule. He was always sure to keep us in the loop of what was going on with our purchase. When you pay for an attorney, you expect consistent communication. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience with Attorney Burt. He relied strictly on email, which can be fine — if you check it constantly. My husband and I both work full-time, so his follow-up message requesting additional initials and a signature went unnoticed in a crowded inbox. For over a month and a half, he never called to check in or confirm whether we had completed the paperwork. We assumed the case was finalized since payment was made in full and even the other party believed it was settled after turning in the first round of signatures. Then, we received a mailed notice stating he had withdrawn as our counsel. When I called him for clarification, he immediately said he’d “done all he could.” Ironically, once we talked, the issue was resolved in five minutes and resigned everything. It was in his mailbox within 48 hours. A single phone call two months earlier could have prevented all of this. I’m not leaving this review to be rude — just to caution others. We take responsibility for missing the email, but I expected a bit more proactive communication. I’m giving a fair rating because the case was ultimately resolved, but I hope this helps others avoid the same confusion.

When I called I was sent to voice mail. I received a call back in a timely fashion. Burt and I spoke on the phone about my issue. He was very helpful and took his time to understand my problem. I would work with Burt again on any other legal issue that may arise.

I was planning on filing an uncontested divorce myself after reading all of the horror stories about lawyers and the divorce process. Luckily, my employer offers a legal plan benefit, which led me to Padove Law. I initially called to ask a few questions about filing for an uncontested divorce myself. He said he could handle it through my company plan. I sent him all the info he requested, and everything was taken care of. He sent me all the forms as they were filed and set up the Zoom hearing, which was just a 5-minute online meeting with the judge. He requested a waiver of final hearing, and that was it. From start to finish, 60 days, the minimum waiting time in Indiana. It could not have been easier, and the amount he quoted me was what he charged me. I would definitely use his services again if the need arises.

We had a great experience with Mr. Padove. We came to him looking to do a stepparent adoption and as of today everything is finalized. He’s a very nice person who is patient and very easy to work with. He also keeps you updated every step of the way. He also does wills so we will definitely be repeat clients for when that time comes in the near future. Thank you again so much for all of your hard work and making this happen for our family.

Mr. Padove is a very experienced and knowledgeable divorce attorney. He is very detailed oriented and makes sure he is best prepared to obtain the best possible outcome for his client. He knows the legal system extremely well and he has guided us during a very stressful time in our family's life with patience and understanding but also with realistic advice about the outcome of our case! He really cares for his client and he doesn't waste your time and money by chasing long shots. I would highly recommend Mr. Padove for any family law case you might have.
