This law firm represented me for a criminal case and got the charges dismissed entirely!! They represent me for a civil appeal case, a civil lawsuit seeking monetary damages against a government agency, and they represent my friend Paul in another lawsuit seeking monetary damages against a different government agency. They are diligent, timely, caring, intelligent, and have their clients best interests at heart. Also a plus, there are a few cute bird doggies that supervise the firm!

Doug phelps is very well rooted in the legal system here for a reason.

Served as pro-hac local council on case of mine years ago. Gave us a phenomenal deal on representation and did solid work. I remember hearing Doug was sick a while back and just thought about him in my prayers. Hope everything is going well.

Today I had contacted Phelps & Associates as they were representing me on a couple of citations. Doug Phelps called me back, and showed his true colors on the phone. If you really want good representation go somewhere else, this firm does not communicate, and you end up paying them money for absolutely no representation, and when you ask exactly what you’re paying for, Doug will tell you that you’re stupid, and yell at you when he is the one in the wrong. Never in a million years would I recommend anyone go here for any traffic offense or any other representation from this firm. Very lazy, and zero communication! Save your time and your money, and continue to keep looking, unless of course you have more time and money than you know what to do with! As of today, Doug Phelps has been fired from anything that has to do with me, what an absolute waste of a so called attorney!

I think some of these reviews from (negative) clients must have the wrong firm. We, my wife and I, are 2/2 with Doug meaning he resolved both issues with the best outcome imaginable, especially for the fee! I recommend him to anyone that needs representation.

Doug Phelps cares about one thing.... Your money. He's unethical and won't give you the time of day after he's paid. Do yourself a favor a seek ethical assistance. *****Now they say they don't have any record on me being a client....That speaks volumes as to how unorganized they are. Doug took a healthy 5 figure retainer and then stopped answering the phone.

Incredibly disappointed to read any positive reviews as I was just hung up on after asking for my husband's file. This lawfirm has represented my husband for a few years and when he called to get a update on his case( he's been Incredibly patient with Phelps and associates over the years he's been thinking they are helping him) they responded with his attorneys no longer there and your pretty much out of luck. I called to get his files and was hung up on. BBB isn't the only place that needs to know the unprofessionalizm and false hope coming from this law firm. I don't recommend this place at all

Worst experience I've ever had with an attorneys office. Phelps & Associates was retained on behalf of my father who was being medically neglected in Benton County Jail. His office assured me they would fight for alternative detention methods and do so immediately. They dragged their feet for weeks after being retained. Ignored my calls or told me the attorney I retained left the firm and I would have to wait for Doug. I was excited to have the senior attorney at the firm handling our case, although I know now that was probably the worst outcome. Doug never made it a priority to educate himself on my father's case. He would attend court hearings remotely and was constantly unable to operate the WebEx, having issues hearing the judge or really not understanding the proceedings. But, would refuse to hold his ground about these technical issues as the hearings proceeded. Anytime I would respectfully object or question his behaviors he was threaten to drop us as a client. Unfortunately, the money paid to him was all we had for defense services so there wasn't much we could do. In conclusion my father was granted alternative monitoring but at his own expense (even though he was declared indigent by the courts). I had a few hundred dollars remaining owed to his office but due to the unexpected expense of home monitoring placed on me, I asked if at the least they could wait until his montioring was complete before I remitted payment. They immediately sent the account to collections. This attorney severely lacks empathy or common courtesy for his clients. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere for representation unless you wish to be ignored and extorted.

Doug and his associates defended to the best of their ability in court. Very nice people and know how to defend you when your in trouble

Hard to speak for competence in regards to Attorney Doug and his staff @t Phelps & Associates🤡 are extremely rude and very unprofessional staff! I was referred to them by CDL consultants on March 2021 and my traffic misdemeanor case been in court for almost 3 years now! Doug Phelps cares about one thing .. your money. He's unethical and won't give you the time if day after he's paid. Do yourself a favor a seek ethical assistance and beware of this law office. The lawyers @t Phelps & Associates promise to call, and keep me updated. I have only been able to speak to him one time since I paid him and it was non-committal at best, terrible communication. When you call his office, you will be aggressively spoken too by one of his rude receptionist. They stole my money and not only did they not communicate any progress or hang ups in handling my case, they frequently did not return calls even when I had made appointments for my lawyer Doug to call me with Phelp's secretary. Also, when my court date came up, Phelps & Associates did not send me any of the court ordered Zoom video meeting ID number and/or the correct criteria Log ON and join the court video platform information until it was 30 minutes after the meeting has already started. And I signed in right away to I let the court host know that I was there on my court date but late to log in on webex court video because I called phelps & Associate 'Amber' and received the court webex video Log on platform late from her; and, i asked Phelps & Associate staff to tell my lawyer Doug Phelps in court that Im logged in half hour late because of his law firm staff incompetent mistake of sending me the court j meeting ID number late so I could join in the court meeting video platform immediately. Unfortunately, the judge did not care and issued a warrant for my arrest! Additionally, now my CDL is suspended with my home State of Michigan DMV. Evenlthough, its not really my fault that I was in court half hour late on my court date because i hired an attorney from Phelps & Associates to take care of this incident and notify me on all my court dates and to send me all the correct criteria information to me so I will be lawful present in the court meetings. Unfortunately, Phelps & Associates has failed to do that and will not refund my hard money that i paid them so I could get bailed out of this frivolous (recalled) warrant. In summary, this attorney failed to communicate with clients, failed to provide adequate counsel, and failed to notify client(me) of pertinent court motions and hearings to the point that the case was lost. Finally, I am reaching out to the attorney General, and the bar association of Washington, to file grievances against Mr Phelps.

Wasted phone call Was Rude says they are not taking any clients We don't deal with Eviction I specifically started the conversation that It isn't about any eviction Shows She wasn't listening Very Rude!!! Don't bother on this one.

I walked in and hired this man in this office I gave him cash for a legal case which ended up being dismissed so then I needed a restraining order and he failed at that too as I was in court a man approached me and said that man is not your legal counsel Phelps his name is not even Phelps so I walked in this office and hired a man gave him cash money and he wasn't a lawyer and he wasn't in a Phelps and he did not represent me in court and he is now suing me because I didn't complete making payments but he never had to show up in court the case was dismissed and then he failed at the minor restraining and now someone named peg filed pasic elections against me and I have no idea who that is either whatever you do don't hire this law office and if you do don't use cash

This group of lawyers is extremely unprofessional and not worth the money or time it takes to get anything done with them. My husband employed their services last year. Not only did they not communicate any progress or hang ups in handling his case, they frequently did not return calls. When his court date came up his lawyer no-showed. This is after my husband reached out yesterday to say he wanted to have a quick 5 min meeting before his court appearance. Doug Phelps ended up showing late to court, wasn't briefed on anything and was entirely unprepared to do his job. They had to request a recess so my husband could brief him on the case. The entire office is utterly useless.

They have helped me and my family on multiple occasions. And will continue to do so as long as i need a lawyer
