I can't speak too much about the specifics of our case, but I can say that in a diligent process and thorough understanding of our circumstances, Marty and his team expedited our case with a positive outcome. Having never experienced the law process before, my wife and I felt encouraged and comforted because they are an experienced law firm in newborn wrongful death cases, and because Marty and his team were always by our side, readily available via email and on a first phone call answer throughout the process. If I could rate Michels and Lew a zero, I would. Two weeks ago, I contacted their office regarding a possible medical malpractice case. They stated their process was to provide a brief synopsis of the facts to one their staff, and an attorney would return a call shortly. The person on the phone stated she was a legal assistant, and asked me a few questions, and said I would hear from Mr. Michels personally. A week later I received an email from a Monica Alonso that my case had been denied. Ms Alonso isn't an attorney, according to the California State Bar, nor does she represent herself as a paralegal. I requested to have Mr. Michels call me directly. It has been a week now. The Michels and Lew website states, "we urge you to have your case reviewed by an attorney with extensive experience in your type of legal challenge before you make any decision. If you would like to speak to a member of our team OR one of our lawyers, please contact our office with the facts of your case". I never got to speak to an attorney. In reading other reviews, this seems to be their M.O...to have uneducated flunkies deal with vulnerable victims in pain and suffering, sit in their high posh offices on Whilshire Blvd., and cherry pick cases they know are lucrative and easy to win. The website goes on to state, "our clients have experienced brain injury, paralysis, third-degree burns, loss of an infant in childbirth, sexual abuse and other catastrophic injuries. Without exception, they have experienced tragedies before they enter our offices. Our lawyers and staff members are sensitive to these situations. For that reason our service does not stop in the courtroom—we are committed to providing our clients with the support and services they need to cope with the legal process, to get the medical and rehabilitative care they need and to rebuild their lives after their cases are resolved. Victims of tragedy should be afforded a life of dignity and the best medical care available with absolutely no out-of-pocket expenses". This was not my experience. If it’s not a case they want they don’t even let you know. They tell you they will get back to you and just don’t. I waited a week to follow up and at that point was informed they denied the case. Unfortunate.

My wife called this attorney two weeks ago was told she would get a call right back from the attorney himself never heard a word. Must be like most attorneys and not care and just care about the big money cases! I would never recommend this office to anyone who actually wants to get help. It’s sad and pathetic when grown men are lying to women saying they’re going to call them and help them during an emergency situation and choose to never call. My wife is terminally ill and made that clear and explained that the pharmacy was withholding life-threatening medication apparently that wasn’t enough for this attorney to take the case seriously. Even though it’s in complete violation of ADA regulations maybe the attorney doesn’t know that how sad and pathetic.

I can not say enough about the team that handled my legal case. From the initial intake meetings, through the various depositions and discovery meetings, and into the settlement talks and follow-ups. They were always professional, but more importantly, they were always personable. I never felt like I was just a case number with a dollar amount attached to it. And while this was an overwhelming situation and set of circumstances for myself, they have been supportive through it all. They helped me believe that my case had merit, when other firms did not. I am both very thankful for them, and extremely appreciative.

I want to thank the lawyer and his team for helping me and my family through our tragic situation. My father suffered so much due to medical negligence. No one wanted to give us answers about what happened, but the lawyer took our case and resolved it. Now we are so grateful for his services. Nothing but good people. I truly Appreciate how passionate this group of people are. From the receptionist to the lawyers they are very professional. I enjoyed being a client and getting to know people through out the year. Every case is different and they treat each one as so. It’s located on a very busy street but they have parking that can be validated so that’s not a problem. The process is so easy because this is what they specialize in. What I like most is that they take the time to get to know their clients and the support they provide to the families and they have tons of resources. One thing I love is our early morning meetings we had food and snacks! That’s always a plus because sometimes we forget to bring food. I want to say thank you to Mr. Lew for Being amazing to my family and supportive. Thank you for fighting for us. It’s unfortunate that we need these kinds of lawyers but I’m beyond grateful to have them in my corner.

Worthless excuse for law representation.

If I could rate as 0 I would. Front desk who took my call 'evaluated' my case, mentioned she was not an attorney and said they weren't able to help me. Receptionist needs more of a legal training If she will be determining future client cases. Felt she did not give time to explain and did not sound interested. Not professional and unfriendly attitude!
