If you or someone you care about is in pain, don’t count on timely communication from Pikes Peak Spine & Joint. I believe Dr. Latch is a good doctor, and when my mom was actually able to receive treatment, her neck pain did improve. Unfortunately, getting care was a constant struggle due to administrative issues. We experienced repeated scheduling problems, multiple insurance errors, long approval delays, and poor follow-up. On numerous occasions, we were told to wait for insurance approval and then never received a call back at all. Dr. Latch splits his time between Colorado and Texas, and while I don’t know the internal business details, the outcome for patients is the same: long delays, inconsistent follow-up, and people in real pain left waiting indefinitely. If staffing or management resources are too stretched to support multiple locations, this practice should seriously reconsider that structure. Telling patients in significant pain to wait weeks for insurance approval and then failing to follow up is simply not acceptable.
5 stars down to 1-2 stars... My first appointment i was pretty much called a liar... After bringing in my documents showing that i had back problems she then believed me. Since then, and after a complaint was made, she moved on to another company. The doctors that i saw after her were great and the staff was great. A year, or so, went by and when i went back in one of the doctors weren't there any longer. This was odd as that doctor, and staff, were great. After dealing with another new doctor we went over everything again and that's when i finally got some treatments. I ended up having a nerve burned so that i could live without pain, for at least awhile until the nerve grew back. This was all discussed, which was great! Unfortunately, the staff that was in the room with the doctor to do the procedure was another disappointment! I heard them cussing up a storm and were saying things that made me uncomfortable. After the procedure was completed and i got to see the people, that did the follow up with, they told me everything i needed to know and were passionate about what they did and making sure that i was ok. A year, or so has now went by and the nerve has grown back causing me pain again... So, i called to get a new appointment (2023) and was told that i needed a referral due rules being changed. I didn't understand that as i had been going there for, i believe, around 3 years now. I never had a referral any of the times i went in, not even the first time. Looking at their website i don't see the doctor there that did my procedure. They seem to change staff more than i change socks. I loved that they were helping, but i am 100% confused as to why i need a referral now, when i have been going there for years, aka an established patient, and need to be seen again to address the same issue i was dealing with. Due to all of this, i can't see myself going back, unless something changes to where walk-in patients are allowed again. This is 100% disheartening!
I do NOT recommend them. While PA Christie Troyer has been great, there is a huge disconnect between her and the admin staff. I have waited 3+ weeks EVERY time she has referred me for anything. (Edit to update that I’ve been waiting for several months now with no contact.) Then I attempt to call and obtain the referrals and get either a voicemail box with no response after leaving a message, or someone saying they will call me back. Yet they never do. This has happened 3 times so far and has been a huge hindrance to getting better after a car accident. Here I am now three (6) months later, and nothing has changed for me because I have been unable to get the care I require. Stay far far away from this place!!!
Was charged $50 for a 5-10min phone consultation for neck injections in June. Never been in the office, never got a follow up, no one answers the phone. just a bill.
In the beginning I would have given this place 10 stars but now I wouldn’t even give one, had my nerves burned, the pain came back scheduled my appt was told it needed to be cancelled because I needed a follow up, that was scheduled had the appt and set for my nerves to get burned again, they called me 40 minutes before I was due to arrive to tell me the machine broke and I would get a call later in the week to reschedule, a week went by heard nothing so I reached out spoke with Miguel which he informed me of wrong information, tried to reach out to the office manager she ignored my messages, I called back to figure out what’s going on and when I can get scheduled, Miguel again informed me the machine would be fixed that week and to call back next week (thanksgiving) to be scheduled. I called after the holidays was informed the office manager would call me no surprise she didn’t, my last call again spoke with Miguel he informed me they had a “meeting” about me and that I would be contacted by the office manager and that he couldn’t assist me anymore, it’s 12/12/23 and I still haven’t got a phone call. Terrible customer service I can’t believe this place I will never refer anyone there, the fact that I’m in pain trying to get treated and all they can do is have a meeting about me and ignore my calls is completely unprofessional.
DONT GO HERE!!! I have a personal injury case and have been trying to schedule an apt for 3 weeks. This past Tuesday I had a consultation over the phone and at the end of that conversation I assumed we could schedule the apt for the following week because that’s what I was told the week before consultation was scheduled. After the consultation the lady over the phone says no your not aloud to schedule it yourself have your attorney call and we can set a date up. 1. How would my attorney know what dates work best around my work schedule or what I personally prefer? 2. My lawyer could t even get them to answer the phone and had to leave 3 different voicemails and still hasn’t heard back. It’s Thursday today and the people on the phone kept running me around saying we’ll call you back we’re looking into it. I then had to drive 30 mins to schedule an apt in person because I thought maybe that would work. It did not the staff in both suites where very condescending and I’m willing to work with me. I was running around the office with no idea of where to go. The guy I was speaking with over the phone all morning then told me in the office that the office I needed had been closed all day. IF YOU WOULD HAVE SAID THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE I WOULD HAVE WAITED FOR THEM TO OPEN THE NEXT DAY!! Nothing about this place made me feel secure and I will not be scheduling my back treatment here!!! No one should!! They’re closed at 11am on a Thursday?? Doesn’t specify online and if you call they won’t tell you. Very very very inconsiderate to someone in as much pain as I.
Miguel is the only reason they have a one star instead of a zero. Miguel is the only that would call or say he was to forward messages. Messages were left with the medical assistant and she didn't call back either. When my husband first started going there, they seemed great. After the procedure 29 days ago, my husband has been in constant misery and pain. It is the worst headache he has ever had and said his eyes feel like they are being pushed out of his skull. After calling several times and getting no response, even after his follow up telemedicine appointment, they said the best they could do was get him in in mid July. They would not make an appointment at that and said someone would call. My husband couldn't take it anymore and went the VA Emergency Room 70 miles away. Dr. Latch or any of the staff would not speak to the emergency room, so the emergency could treat my husband, because they didn't know the specifics of the procedure that was done 29 days ago. Would not recommend to anyone! If you have a choice do not go there. I have watched my husband suffer for almost a month.
They really need someone else answering the phones. Every time you call you have to leave a message and get a call back from the same person, once he calls back you can barely understand him and then he doesn’t know what he is doing. I’ve asked to speak to someone else for a week now, and never get a call back or transfer. When I called to ask about my referral getting to them his response was “ya we got it but we just do it tomorrow not now” (this was around 3 pm so still enough time left in the day) I was told 2 weeks ago that they take my insurance, then all of a sudden today that’s not the case. I would highly recommend getting a new person to run the phones.
The staff are absolutely amazing!! Krykt is wonderful she always makes sure I’m good before during and after my appointments her Dr Massey and Dr latch make my visits so comfortable and memorable, I always get nervous because I don’t like needles they relax me everytime!! I would recommend EVERYONE to that clinic I wish there were more stars I can give place is truly one of a kind with patient experience!!!
Krykt rocks! I had been told that the Pikes Peak Spine & Joint office needed some information from my insurance carrier and they would call to schedule my procedure, but heard nothing for a while so I went in to ask about my status. Krykt determined that they had everything they needed and I could get it done anytime. Ok, good news. She checked the schedule and said "How's Monday March 6?" Only ten days out? Absolutely! This could have dragged out for much longer but Did Not. She made an effort to minimize any further wait, and I am happy to be moving forward in the process. The staff here have been very positive and professional, and things are looking up for my back for the first time Ever.
Great people, very nice and knowledgeable, I was impressed and I have spent my entire life getting banged up and recovering from damage. So far so good, I'll know in a week or so but it was a lot easier than I expected. Thanks to staff and surgeons. Looking back with a clear head now, they are terrific, I definitely recommend this great clinic.
Trying to find the right doctor for myself and this place never answers and you can't leave messages because the voicemail is always full!
NO STARS!! Very unprofessional office!! I can never get a call back for information and have been trying for 2 weeks. When I do get someone to answer the phone they say they will call back and never do!
Very considerate workers. Very informed about the product
The staff is awesome! Crystal is so nice & has gone above & beyond to help me get my referrals through, also talked me down when I was super upset with the clinic that referred me to PP Spine & Joint. Both doctors are great at what they do & the back office staff is amazing! Highly recommend 🙌
Is it weird to say you love your orthopedist? Because I do! This is the first doctor who worked to solve my pain, not just diagnose it. The staff is kind and an absolute pleasure to work with. I love not being in pain!
Fabulous staff and a wonderful office!
The most unprofessional, egomaniacal “doctors” office I have ever been to. My accident, prior doctors, 3/4 MRIs, and PI lawyer are all in Colorado. I recently moved to Texas and was referred to Integrity Pain Management for my lower back pain and to get an MRI on my knee. Despite the equipment being in San Antonio, I was told Dr. Latch would not preform PRP at the that location, and he only does it at his other office in Colorado. That’s wasn’t a problem so I booked travel to Colorado. The San Antonio office said they would send my lower back reports to Dr. Latch to review and decide if I was a good candidate and that he would give me a call. Meanwhile, I was to get my knee MRIed and have it reviewed by Dr. Latch. I never received a call from them and had a hard time reaching them for about two weeks. When I finally did get through, I was told Dr. Latch would not preform PRP on my back but had no issue doing it in my knee which I had learned had a tear in the meniscus. I called the Colorado location to get it the appointment set up and was told it was for treatment on Jan. 27th. On Jan 24th, I few from San Antonio to Denver. On January 25th, I received a call from the San Antonio business telling me the appointment in CO had been canceled. After a long time on the phone, they danced around some beautifully crafted lies as to why they could no longer see me. Reason 1: at the age of 22, I was too young Reason 2: there was no funding from my Colorado-based PI attorney. I offered to pay out of pocket. Reason 3: after close to two months, the doctor hadn’t seen any of my MRIs. Reason 4: after the doctor saw the MRI, I was apparently supposed to have a follow-up for what treatments I can/want/should do. I never spoke to him, saw him or had this appointment scheduled. Reason 5: The legal agreement was reached with the Texas business, not this one in Colorado. Apparently the two offices don’t work with each other except that they make calls for each other, transfer and work at each other’s locations, have an instant online chat together, communicate in other ways, share the same doctor, use the same new patient paperwork, and the SA location canceled my appointment in Colorado. Reason 6: I needed to try other things first like chiropractic or steroid injections. Both of which I had already done before my very first visit with them in SA. A simple apology for their major screw up would have been sufficient; however, they love to argue and continued to lie about what had been said and done. The front desk lady and Rachel are condescending and don’t want to deal with their mistake. In the front desk lady’s own words, “above my pay grade.” You wasted two months of my time, a flight back here to Colorado, a piece of my sanity, and increased my suffering. You are incompetent, rude, and I can’t imagine that you’ll be in business much longer. Dr. Latch hides behind his front desk employees and doesn’t have the balls to own up to his businesses mistakes.
