Front desk staff are great, Mike Riling is NOT someone I recommend anyone do business with.

This firm is a disgrace at the highest level. I was told by LegalShield they would be the attorneys representing me. They are horrible to talk to let alone try to get anything accomplished. Pick any topic-Wills, VA Disability, Worker's Compensation etc. Do yourself a favor you would be better off representing yourself for as much help as they provide you.

Sought help through legal shield insurance. They found every reason not to help. Not sure if it's legal shield that is the scam, or the firm itself. I pay a monthly premium for them to tell me it's going to be $3k to have a few traffic cases looked at. If you would like a lesson in futility, then by all means, they definitely got you there.

Terrible firm. Make you do most of work and misinform you. Would definitely stay away.

This office is horrible. My mother wanted a second set of ears when she talking with this office and they refused to speak to her because SHE wanted someone to listen in. They insisted on a power of attorney for the person my mom requested present. These demands are unrealistic. There's no need for a p.o.a.. Possibly a confidentiality issue but not even that. It's like going to the doctor and having an extra set of ears present. It's not any concern of this office who a member chooses to have present. I would NEVER recommend Riling, Burkhead, and Nitcher! Represent yourself before you bother with this place. There are plenty of qualified attorneys that are happy to help a client.

This is an assigned attorney group. They come with the membership of Legalshield. Communication is not great and don't expect them to get aggressive and really get on your side in legal matters. They do basic things are and very low key on what they do get done.

Don't waste your time

This firm is a complete joke. They claim to be a legal shield provider, yet they are trying to charge me for a simple referral. I asked for representation in an expungement matter, to which they wanted 900 dollar retainer, when the defense of the matter did not cost near that. So I asked for a referral, they refused the referral unless I had the 900 dollars they had first demanded. I hope anyone thinking of using this firm, makes a wise decision to search elsewhere

I have worked with Mike Riling and other attorneys and staff at the firm for nearly 30 years. We have sent our Louisiana clients to them when they have had issues involving Kansas law. The firm is professional, more than competent, friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this firm.

Just have to share this information: From 1978 till 2021 I was a Loyal Member with Pre-Paid Legal, now called Legal Shield Ada Ok. They were a former Awesome Company, until The Riling Law Firm took over they're Defense litigation. Through the late 70's, 80's, & 90's the Atnys. representing Pre-Paid fought really hard for they're clients, usually resulting in a 90% win factor with most Traffic Violations. {{When the Riling Firm took over everything changed Horribly}} They would never go to Trial, & fight for the Clients, & always promoted throwing in the towel, With a No Contest, & would strongly suggest pleading Guilty... Run like Hell from this Firm!!! Unless your for toughing in the towel...

I got linked up with Greg Gietzen at this law firm through Legal Shield. I believe this was my first time seeking legal advice, and as I was asking the same question in 3 diff states, I spoke to 3 diff attorneys. Greg was, far and away, the best of the 3. He made an effort to understand the question on our first conversation, got back to me in a timely manner, and when I asked for case law, i.e. something in writing proving his point, he provided me a great case that was basically a perfect fit. Based on my experience working for a litigation vendor as a younger man, and the fact that Greg has only had his law degree for 3 years, I expect he'll continue to hone his skills and improve at his craft.
