After speaking to Chris about my case I was assigned Jerry Salicido as my attorney on the matter. He was helpful in the planning to resolve my criminal case. Communication wasn’t great at times and hard to reach by phone which was my only means. Overall I have to thank Salicido law firm for helping me get the issue taken care of. UPDATED Review 03/10/26 As stated I did get a great result and while I have some frustrations with the process it isn’t all related to Salicido law firm or is it their fault. Jerry’s character is 5 stars.. I stand with my original statement regarding communication.
Surprised by this rating Garritt as we got you an amazing result definitively worth 5 stars.
Jerry is amazing! My son was facing serious felony charges based on “he said/she said”. Not only did he get the state to drop the charges without prejudice, he was so patient with us. We never experienced anything like this in our lives. We were afraid. We had so many questions. I know it must’ve felt like we were bombarding him constantly. But he was so patient. He truly is everything the wonderful reviews about him, say. Hopefully, we never need to use him again, but in the unfortunate event something like this happens in the future, we will not hesitate to hire him again. Thank you, Jerry!
Thank you for the kind words Lorie.
Going through issues related to a divorce decree can be very stressful, but working with Jon at Salcido Law made a huge difference for me. He helped me with an Order to Enforce and I truly felt like I had someone in my corner. Jon communicated clearly and kept me informed throughout the process. He did an excellent job representing me and was very knowledgeable in both family law and bankruptcy, which was extremely helpful in my situation. Because of his work and preparation, we were able to get a great outcome. What stood out most was how he treated me as a person and not just another case. He was respectful, approachable, and supportive during a difficult time. I am very grateful for the work he did for me and would highly recommend Jon and Salcido Law to anyone needing strong legal representation.
Thank you Tyler. Happy to represent you.
Salcido Law Firm, my experience with Jerry was more than I could have expected. Working with them on my case was easy, and they were more than fair with their prices. I appreciate how professional they were and how they were able to help me stay with my family. Thanks again Jerry
And you were a great client. Thanks for the review.
You won’t find attorneys who work harder for their clients than the Salcido brothers. Their reputation precedes them, and case after case, they continue to earn it.
Thank you so much.
Salcido Law went to bat for our family and helped us win in a way we never expected. My son not only got his freedom back, but his dignity as well.
So glad we could help you get a good result. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the 5 stars.
Jerry was amazing to work with, and willing to fight for you. He is compassionate, intelligent and caring. I would recommend him to anyone who needs representation.
Thank you Jordan. It was a pleasure to represent you.
I strongly recommend to anyone in need of legal representation!!! Chris took excellent care of me and guided me through every step of the process, making sure I fully understood everything from beginning to end.
Thanks Mike! It was a pleasure helping.
This is my first time being in a situation that requires a lawyer. I did a lot of research on lawyers in my area, and this firm was recommended to me. I consulted with Chris and retained him. After he was retained, I never heard from him again. Finally, 3 weeks later after leaving numerous messages for him to call me I received a call from Spencer "Benny" Salcido stating he was taking my case. To make a long story short, this guy is a terrible lawyer! He doesn't return calls, every time I would call the front desk would say "he stepped away" Mind you I was only calling because court was coming up and I had no idea what to expect. Finally, I met the guy for the first time in court, and he said nothing to me about my case. He wasn't helpful, he gave me no hope at all, and he even treated me like he didn't believe me. He acted like he was friends with the prosecutor and people involved during court and didn't even go over their offer to me. I wanted to fire him right after that but was afraid because I had already paid him in full. I gave 2 more chances, which I now regret. He never returned my emails or calls before court dates I always went to court scared because I never knew what to expect. Pretrial was my last straw! Not only did he ignore til the day of, but he still hadn't even gone over the evidence for the case. We’re talking 6 months already and still have not even watched or looked over the evidence!!! So, no surprise when it was our turn at the stand, he literally asked 1 irrelevant question to the Plaintiff. I finally got the courage to fire him in the last week of October. I called November 12th to see if i could get some money back. I was told by their snobby front desk girl that they were waiting for his invoice for the month. I was told I would get a call back within a week or 2 regarding that and of course to no surprise I never heard from anyone. Knowing how this place functions I decided to wait and called 12/15 and was told the same thing, “They are still waiting for his monthly invoice." The front desk told me (a guy this time) said he wasn't sure why it was taking so long because he should have had it done by now since invoices are turned in beginning of the month for the month prior. I was told someone would call me back but I'm not counting on it so I will be following up in a week or 2 or I will be filing a complaint because this is ridiculous. I hope no one gets stuck with this guy as a lawyer! I can't speak on the Company as a whole, but Benny is by far the worse lawyer at this firm. If you're scared and need someone to defend you don't count on getting far or even a fighting chance with Spencer Benny Salcido! I hired a new lawyer and he's phenomenal!
Thank you for the five stars Sarah.
Thank you for the five stars!
I caught a case last year, Benny called every moment of the case as it was presented. He helped me keep my life in tact, my career in tact, and my family stress-free. Their team is for you if you are open and honest.
Glad we could help. Thanks.
I recently had a very troubling experience with this firm involving my case. My mother called the office and paid what she was told was a retainer for attorney Spencer Salcido before anyone from the firm had ever spoken to me. That same day, my mother texted the firm and clearly stated that I had not agreed to hire them, that any funds were to be held in trust pending my decision, and that I did not consider myself to have counsel yet. Despite that, the next morning Mr. Salcido/his firm filed an Appearance of Counsel and additional motions in my case. I had never spoken to him, never signed an appearance or retainer agreement (nor had my mother signed the retainer agreement), and I had consistently stated that I did not want several of the things that were requested in those motions. I only learned about all of this by logging into the court system and seeing filings made under my name. When I confronted the firm, Mr. Salcido agreed to withdraw after I made it clear I had never consented to representation. A staff member also told me, “we probably weren’t going to be taking on your case anyway,” which was especially frustrating given that they had already taken my mother’s payment and filed documents with the court as if they represented me. This experience was extremely upsetting, especially because my case centers on issues of consent and police conduct, and I am a trauma survivor with Complex PTSD. Having an attorney I’d never met appear in my case and make strategic decisions (including things I had explicitly stated I did not want) without my knowledge or consent has seriously damaged my trust. I am sharing this so that other potential clients, especially those in vulnerable positions, are aware of how my intake and case were handled here and can make informed decisions about whether this is the right firm for them.
Samantha, we're sorry for the confusion and wish you the best of luck in your case.
I would highly recommend Salcido law firm to anyone that is seeking legal representation. Jerry and Chris really took care of me and helped me understand the whole process from start to finish. There was never a question left unanswered. The Salcido group were truly professionals and are backed by experience. They are here to help YOU.
Thank you Sam. Happy we could help.
Edit: they disagree with what transpired but offer no rebuttal. Just admit you screwed me and my case royally. My experience with this firm has been extremely disappointing. What should have been a straightforward case turned into several years of unnecessary delays, poor communication, and costly mistakes. 1. After paying my retainer, it took more than a year for any progress to be made. I repeatedly reached out through the portal and via email, but nothing moved forward until I left a one-star review only then did Jon contact me about the case. They also failed to show up for my first court appearance. 2. Opposing counsel submitted evidence more than a month before our hearing, but I wasn’t informed or given access to it until after the hearing about five days later. This lack of preparation and communication cost me over $8,000. The evidence contained multiple items unrelated to my responsibility, which could have easily been refuted had I been given the opportunity to review it. 3. During the child support hearing, I was penalized for not providing three years of financial records within two months. However, when Jon requested the opposing party’s income documents, we never received them even after several follow-ups and my direct requests for an order to show cause. Four months later, nothing has been done. Opposing counsel’s income figures were based on outdated information, creating a completely unfair comparison. To make matters worse, the opposing firm filed the final order without ensuring income proof was submitted, which has now cost me an additional $3,500 in back child support and jeopardized my right to a tax exemption for my son. When I asked for help resolving this, the only response I got was a request for another $4,900 retainer to challenge the ruling that this office messed up on. I’ve since spoken with another attorney who reviewed my case and was shocked at how it was handled. Between legal fees and financial losses, this experience has cost me roughly $14,000 when it should have been a case resulting in my reimbursement and support. I had high hopes when I retained this firm, but it’s been a major disappointment from start to finish.
Justin, we're sorry you feel this way. We disagree, however, with your perception of what transpired. We wish you the best of luck.
Soft and Slow. Save your money. They're quick to take your money and leave you wondering what you paid for. Saying one thing and doing another. Like calling you a few minutes before court, unprepared.
Tupapi, unfortunately we do not know who you are. Please give us a call at 801-413-1753 and we would be happy to discuss with you how we can do better.
Counsel at this firm includes attorney Jon Hogelin. As the opposing party in a family law case, I witnessed this attorney’s approach firsthand. In my view, his conduct reflected poor judgment and a disregard for the lasting impact of his choices on the people affected. He pursued unrealistic outcomes, rejected opportunities for reasonable resolution, and kept matters in prolonged litigation that caused unnecessary financial and emotional harm to everyone involved. His strategy appeared focused on escalating conflict rather than road mapping progress, at a significant cost to his client and my family. Response to the owner’s comment for context: I do not believe this reflects “vigorous advocacy.” Mr. Hogelin ultimately lost the defense, and the case concluded with a default judgment in my favor despite the considerable time spent in litigation. My intention is not to criticize aggressive representation; it is to note concerns about rigor, strategy, and attention to the long-term consequences for the families involved. For divorcing parents and especially those dealing with high-conflict divorce and seeking an approach focused on stability, healing, and children’s wellbeing, I worked with—and highly recommend—Kelly Peterson. He is widely respected in family law and high-conflict resolution. Throughout my case, he consistently centered my children’s best interests, communicated realistically and compassionately, avoided unnecessary escalation, and helped me understand my own role in reducing conflict. His method was both thorough and effective, and he successfully refuted the defense.
This review was posted by an opposing party in a case, not a client. Our responsibility is to our clients, and by vigorously advocating for our clients' best interests, we often leave opposing parties disgruntled.
Salcido law firm was great to work wirh from the start. Chris took the time we needed and educated us on what would happen and what we should do. Jerry was great to work with in court and great at negotiating with other attorneys and helping us understand the whole process. Highly recommend the Salcido team
Thanks Chris!
Benny Salcido was an amazing lawyer, getting my charges dropped completely and working tirelessly to do so.
Glad we could help. Thanks for the review.
