Very disappointing, when in a time of need for proper representation. Met with my Ex spouse without my knowledge and told me after the fact. Went to same mega church as ex spouse; possibly one of the elders. Babbled about how everyone is broken and how I just needed to apologize to the opposing side in a divorce that I didn't start. Told me and my relative we didn't need to show up to a hearing and were held in default because of. Said he would charge 5 thousand dollars for a box of documents him and his sloppy staff requested me to gather. His staff was very unorganized besides himself. Talked about a divorce murder case that he had formerly represented and how to chill out because it can become that. Talked about flying (piloting) over Lake Okeechobee and almost crashing. Purposely filed my divorce response paperwork late so I became the respondent and not the petitioner. When the time had been prepared before my ex spouse's petition. Tried to lecture me. I wouldn't trust this guy Schwulst to fly me in an airplane; let alone represent me in a court of law. He really slowed down my case from moving forward that I had to seek other counsel. My divorce just ended today 9/26/25 and took 18 months, this firm is one of the reasons it took so long. Avoid!

Todd Roseberry stepped into a difficult situation with little advance notice and handled it as if he had been our legal counsel for years. He is professional, kind, knowledgeable of the law, and very connected in central Illinois. I highly recommend Schwulst and Roseberry as legal counsel.

I typically don't write reviews. But if this prevents another person from going through what I did with this Law Firm, then I think it's worth the effort. Spent almost a year going back and forth with Schwulst & his office, just to end up recently dropping the case from lack of communication and frustration. The only thing that progressed during that time were the months-worth of invoices sent to me, which were emailed late and in one mass. I was basically charged with no action taken. It was to a point I needed some explanations on varies areas of my case, and midway through our conversation he referred to my "wife" and "divorce". Both of which had nothing to do with my case whatsoever. At the end of the day I paid for a good lesson. Always read reviews before getting scammed by crooks. This law firm is a joke and takes advantage of hardworking individuals. Watch out for the snake assistant too. P.s. He needs to retire.

Horrible!!!! Don’t waste your money… He has no clue on what he’s doing. You would be better off defending yourself… Not a lawyer in my eyes. Maybe needs to retire.

Schultz is the worst lawyer in Bloomington IL,if you're planning on a family lawyer DO NOT USE THIS FIRM they are freaking crooks,and his secretaries are very rude especially the young girl behind the glass counter if you love you're children find someone else and save your money this man is a POS🤬

We met with Mr. Schwulst for the free consultation. He generously shared valuable info which helped us to make good decisions about the subject matter. He was also generously over the phone! I highly recommend him as an attorney.

Exploits poor people using “law” and systems and not common sense

Not exactly work for me in general not get results I want, may be some people get more luck, not aggressive enough.

My father is a client and is wasting his time and waste of money. This guy does bare minimum so he can get paid and is extremely rude.

Todd Roseberry was the GAL in my divorce case, and went well above and beyond for our daughter. He worked for over a year to get to the bottom of every allegation, to find every truth, and to handle every matter in a responsible and professional way. I would say that I wish he had been my divorce lawyer, but then my little angel wouldn't have had someone so great looking out for her best interests. Highly recommended!!!

Would give zero stars if possible.

Very poor experience. They seemed more concerned with finding things to bill me for than the actual matter at hand. Only ever recieved one bill from them. When issue fell through and I informed them their services were no longer needed I was told they would close out and send a check. 2+ weeks and I hear nothing. So I called in, was told 1400 was coming back and I could pick up by end of the day. That number dropped to 900 by the time I actually got there. The reason? they went back and added a bunch of charges. What kind of charges? things like $90 to "review an email" mind you this was a 2 sentence "This is an update of whats going on". I cant express how deeply disappointed I am in my experience. Avoid at all costs.

Two-lawyer firm doing general law. Very warm and personal. 30 minute free consultation available by appointment. Mr. Roseberry took time to advise me on general law relating to my issue, and made himself available should I need to retain him or his partner in the future.
