Hi, combat veteran Iraq, Afghanistan’s, Africa, and OPERS recipient here. Due to a disagreement with OPERS not to except the VA’s treatment plan my earned and paid for benefits were discontinued. I have a head trauma in 1995 and as I aged I had a hard time keeping thoughts together and organizational skills among other things. I worked at MetroHealth for 25 years and they let me go due to some of the problems I was having. I was looking for an attorney that understood OPERS, which is not the easiest to find. Google pointed me to Scott. Scott was a short distance from me, great reviews/ratings and this was done on a contigency basis. I had been off work for about a year and needed that disability income for backpay and future icome since I could no longer perform my job well. I went through this law firm due to issues with my back that eventually lead to surgery with some various other complications with my physical health. Dylan Statler was the assigned lawyer to my case and for almost 3 years helped navigate the system and the appropriate channels. He was honest and up front with me about the process taking time and never lead me on that I was guaranteed financial relief even for a very legit and debilitating condition. Regardless of the fact that he thought they might deny my claim, no matter how very real it was with all of the paperwork from my treatment team, Dylan worked tirelessly for my case. My husband had been waiting for a result from social security after applying in March of 2024.
