Was eventually referred to Shaffer and Gaier after making the unwise choice of contacting Pond Lehocky regarding possible medical malpractice. I spent several months uninterested in dealing with this firm, whose assistant, Janet, repeatedly called me, emailed me, incessantly to discuss my case with Michael. It was quite frankly, annoying. I (a newly widowed woman and mother) finally gave them this time, and whole Michael Shaffer seemed like an empathetic listener on the phone, asked me to provide some medical documentation and that he'd get back to me. Finally, after a few months, I receive a vague and cold email from Janet (c/o Michael) stating that he cannot take my case and to contact him with any questions. It's been a few weeks and this morning I had a question about something stated in his letter, and he firmly and coldly responded "my firm has decided not to pursue your case." Well duh. Wasn't what I asked. Honestly if he had just been rude from the start I'd have no issue. But for them to blow up my phone several times a week and then act like *I'm* wasting THEIR time...give me a break. I'd pursue anything involving him with caution, given how quickly the switch up happened with me. I'm not bothered at them taking the case...treating people with respect is a big deal.
