My husband and I hired Attorney Mara Shaughnessy to handle our estate planning ( Will/Trust ) to include a special needs trust. We are so happy we did. She is professional, knowledgeable and yet personable. Both her and her staff are patient, kind and they truly listen to your needs and goals. We are very confident with her expertises. She has exceeded our expectations each time and we will continue to use her for our legal needs. We highly recommend her.

I hired Mara Shaughnessy to handle an adult guardianship process and am so glad I did. She and her amazing secretary, Kelly, made the experience as smooth as possible. Her office was very responsive and patient throughout all the proceedings. They never hesitated to answer my questions or get things filed on time. I highly recommend retaining Mara's services.

My mother n law hired Myra to do a probate for her. She was very slow to achieve any results. Communicated more with her secretary than her. Had to make appointments just to talk to her on the phone. It took her 10 months to say she can't do no more for her because a will turned up. Talk about a let down. I think a refund is due, cause nothing got accomplished.

We knew that finding an attorney to advocate and provide Second Parent Adoption Services was going to be hard and not as common. We went through four different lawyers before finally finding Mara and her law firm. My partner and I were at ease throughout the whole process even when we faced a couple of setbacks due to the Judge not being familiar with Second Parent Adoption, Mara and Tylinh gave us reassurance that everything will be fine and advocated for us in a professional manner. Once the adoption order was finalized, they immediately notified us. We are so pleased with their service, support and can't thank them enough. Due to their amazing work, I'm legally the second parent of my son and our family is legally complete. If you're in need of Second Parent Adoption, I highly recommend Mara and her law firm!

Excellent Lawyer and law firm ! They took the time to truly listen to all of our concerns and offered clear, honest guidance every step of the way. What stood out most was their responsiveness and attention to detail. We never felt like just another case—they treated us with genuine care and worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome. The best hands down! Very professional, courteous and most importantly, she actually cares. Mara and the staff. I found out about my son, 6 weeks after he was born. And he has always been with me but I wasn't on the birth certificate. So, I was having little problems here and there with his mother using it against me, and having problems with her doing what's best for our son. Failing school is not an option. Shaughnessy Law with above and beyond to get me full custody of my son and got his last name changed at the age of nine! I'm so happy and grateful and extremely blessed for this particular law firm in general. I love my kids dearly and how she went about my case. I felt she loved my kid as well. Only partially completed what I requested to be done. Did not have a trust so that I could see what she was billing me for. And any time I tried to contact the office, I was told she was out of town and the other paralegal/lawyer was handling my paperwork. If your case is anything more than simple, don’t retain her. Now that I have another lawyer, I see how it’s actually supposed to be handled. Would not recommend. Edit: I previously reached out about this and the office did nothing. I’m not sure why they would even respond with that.

Pleasant and knowledgeable Family law office. Our mother chose this office to guide our family through the Probate process. It has been quite the journey. Family members don’t always agree but this law practice navigates over all obstacles. It has been a learning experience. Thank you.

What a professional office this was to work with. All questions were answered in a timely manner, and never did I feel like I asked too many questions! Would use again and again and again!

We called in a Friday for a simple deed question and they said they would get back to us on Tuesday. We called a week later and she was out of the office. Then called a couple of days later and she was supose to get back to us a little later in the day. Then we called again and she was supose to email us . We still have not heard from her. Bad customer service

I cannot thank Mara Shaughnessy Law enough for everything they did to help us get these results. Their professionalism and willingness to answer all of my questions showed me how much they truly cared. I’ve had to worry about my daughter’s well-being for the past nine years and stress if something ever happened to me. They have given my heart so much peace and more importantly my daughter a safe life. From the entirety of my heart, Thank You!

If I could leave negative stars I would. Worst "lawyer" ever. DO NOT USE HER SERVICES SHES INCOMPETENT. In the beginning, before paying the retainer Mara was responsive and reassured me that everything would be fine, she would handle it all and make sure I wasn't taken advantage of. I paid the retainer feeling relieved that someone would lead me through these legal proceedings and I wouldn't get taken advantage of. Fast forward 8 months later, she hadn't responded to the requests from opposing counsel, had delayed so much that opposing counsel filed a motion for maximum discovery. Resulting in 2 years of financial discovery instead of 2 months. Of course, I didn't know this until 2 days before it was due to the court. Now I had to scramble to obtain, redact non applicable information myself and scan it to her office. Mara shows up in court with a dead laptop, dead phone and none of the information for my case. We had to rely on the opposing counsel to calculate child support and relay that information to the judge. Mara's only words to me were "that sounds about right". Important details that will cost me 10s of 1000's in the future were left out of my final judgement. After months of requesting invoices for billed hours against my fully paid retainer nothing has been sent. She never answers calls or returns voicemails. She is completely unorganized, unresponsive, unprofessional and lacks any work ethic. I'm currently working to have her removed from the legal aide reference sheet at my office because no one should have to deal with this level of incompetence when going through an already difficult legal process. It baffles me how she could still be in business after being such an embarrassment to her profession.

Excellent Law Firm! In 2017 I got married and it ended very quickly. Mara and her team helped me with an annulment. Something very hard to do in the state of Florida. The motions went back and forth, she handled and answered everyone of them! In the end, she argued my case, presented the evidence to the judge and was granted the annulment in my favor. I must say, after 2 previous marriages and two divorces she worked hard she worked harder than both of those other attorneys combined. Constant contact day or night to. Answer questions and or give status updates too. No additional fees were ever charged and completed everything for the agreed price of the retainer. I could have never asked for a better attorney 😊

Ms Shaughnessy was very understanding and attentive to my needs. I can't thank her enough for helping me get though that chapter of my life. I would highly recommend her. ☺️

To start, I’d like to say thank you Mara and Tylinh for EVERYTHING! What an amazing team. Mara was very responsive and she answered all my questions I had. Throughout the process, Mara made sure I was always prepared for court and was there for me when I needed her. During this process Mara made me feel like family, I was comfortable with talking with her about anything and I could even cry to her and she was always there for me! Never use this firm. I’ve called multiple times regarding follow up on an Issue they supposedly said they will help me with. I get the run around from the lady who answers the phone. Apparently they do not like helping the little man.

This law office has completely ghosted us which is the most unprofessional way any business could act. After an encouraging initial discussion and consultation, an email was exchanged putting the “ball” in the office’s court, so to speak. After weeks of waiting, and months of follow up emails and phone calls, Ms Shaughnessy will not return any form of communication. Take your business elsewhere if you can

Definitely do not recommend her. She was used as a probate lawyer on my fathers case after he passed away 3 years ago and he didn't have a lot of money or property. His case is still on going after 3 years and still had not been completed yet. When you call for an update they say they will call you back and never hear anything or get an update about it. Stay away and do not use she has been a total nightmare and has wasted our time.
