Okay so firstly I want to say I have not been represented by anyone yet but yall are doing it right with Ms. Mary working the phone. She is such a sweetheart took the time to answer my questions and gave me important information and was just an all around pleasure to speak with! Thank you so much and we look forward to hopefully working with yall in the future. Thank you Mary!
I was referred to this firm, by another firm. They would not help me fight the injustice in my case. God, help us all.
They will only take civil rights cases that they think they will get a lot of money from. They don’t care about being local counsel for small cases.
These guys suck if you have been wrongfully arrested or detained by police DO NOT CONTACT THESE PEOPLE
Shep Law Group handled my divorce case with professionalism, compassion, and clear communication from start to finish. Going through a divorce is never easy, but they made the process straightforward and less stressful by keeping me informed every step of the way. They were always responsive to my questions, explained my options clearly, and made me feel confident that my case was in good hands. I truly appreciate the attention to detail and the personal care they provided during a very difficult time. I would highly recommend Shep Law Group to anyone in need of strong, reliable legal representation
Sheppard, White, Kachergus & DeMaggio – Silent When I Needed Help Most In March 2025, I experienced what I believe was a serious violation of my civil rights and personal freedom. As a 100% disabled, retired Air Force combat veteran, I came to Jacksonville seeking medical help for long-COVID. Instead, I was held for eight days—first at the Mayo Clinic ER, then at River Point Behavioral Health—despite not being a danger to myself or others. While I was being held involuntarily and illegally, I reached out to Sheppard, White, Kachergus & DeMaggio for legal help. I explained my situation in detail, hoping that a firm known for civil rights advocacy would step in or at least provide guidance. Unfortunately, they did not respond to my request while I was still in custody. I received no assistance, no referral, and no follow-up. I was deeply disappointed. At a time when I needed a civil rights attorney most, I felt completely abandoned. What I Experienced • My attempts to file a writ of habeas corpus—a fundamental legal protection—went nowhere. To my knowledge, the paperwork was never even submitted to the court as is required by law within 24 hours. • I was denied pain relief and sleep medication. • My phone access was cut off. • My wife, who was overseas caring for her dying mother, attempted to contact me repeatedly. Her emails and calls, she tells me, went unanswered for the entire seven-day period. As a disabled veteran, this experience was both frightening and disorienting, all while suffering from debilitating post-COVID syndrome and combat PTSD, NOT SUICIDALITY. What made it worse was the lack of legal advocacy at a time when I was vulnerable and isolated. A Larger Concern This experience made me question how the legal and medical systems in Jacksonville interact. From my perspective, institutions like the Mayo Clinic and River Point Behavioral Health appear to use involuntary holds in ways that are difficult to challenge—especially for out-of-state veterans like myself. And when lawyers decline to help, there is no path to justice. Shakespeare's words ring true today, even more so than in the 16th Century. To Veterans and Vulnerable Citizens: If you’re expecting help from this law firm during a civil rights emergency, please be aware of my experience. I hope your outcome is different. Mine left me with more questions than answers, and a deep sense of abandonment at a time of real need. Needless to say, that was my first and last time in Jacksonville. Camille Sheppard is an exceptional top-tier attorney who provided me with expert guidance and support for my case. Her knowledge and experience were invaluable, and I highly recommend her.
Camille Sheppard was amazing. Very quick to respond to emails. Very informative and patiently answered all my questions regarding my family law case. The office staff is also amazing and very friendly and helpful.
The firm helped me with a minor traffic citation but I was so impressed with how quickly they managed to handle it. I’d recommend them to anyone in any legal troubles! Thank you SWKD!
I had this Man in two separate post conviction appeals. The first I experienced minor relief. The second he fought his guts out but we lost the evidentiary hearing. This Man has become like a father figure to me. If it wasn't for his astronomical retainer fees I would have him again... But he's worth every penny and More! Julian
