I lost a daughter in a car wreck and her mother hired Ms. Mermelstein to assist on the matter. It being new to both of us, Mermelstein went above and beyond the call of duty. She is very thorough and knowledged on what she does. So don't feel like you have to figure everything out when someone as such is on your side. Thank you for everything ! Would highly reccomend !

I really am left speechless from my experience with Jay Silverblatt, I’ve never been spoken to so condescendingly in my life. And long story short I advise all parties old and new to instead give Marks Elder law firm there time and money. Long story: My father is a senior citizen and at a point in his life where he needs my assistance. That includes making his appointments, and communicating his needs efficiently because he is not able to do so to the best of his ability. As a result of this my father found it imperative to have me contact his lawyer of 3 decades (Jay) so that he can establish me and my sibling as POA, update his important documents, and additionally establish myself as a client by having him complete the same documents for my husband and myself. After weeks of attempting to reach him and being told I would get a call back (although I did not), I finally reach him (Jay, not his secretary) and after explaining what was needed he cut me off. He expressed that my dad needed to come in person to update his will and I expressed that of course my father can come in person to sign but since he knows Exactly what he wants and does not have the flexibility to come into the office over and over just to communicate what can be discussed via phone or even zoom in this day in age could that be arranged. He told me no, which although was not convenient, it was fine. I was about to proceed in making an in person appointment for my father but Once I expressed my fathers lack of flexibility to come in repetitively…. Jay again cuts me off. He the arrogantly begins to boast on how long he’s been practicing law, told me no lawyer would help me without me without coming in person and then proceeded to tell me that he was done speaking to me PERIOD (although I barely got a word out lol)! He expressed he would only speak to my father. I immediately tell him I’ve called him numerous times with my father on the line and that we could even call him now, he cuts my off again and expressed that he won’t deal with me at all and that if I call him for my father he won’t speak to him, that my father (his client) must do everything himself (although I explained in detail why he could not). I politely thank Jay for nothing, and hang up. I say all this to say that as a result of Jay’s rudeness, lack of tact, and extremely poor choice of words not only will he not gain me and my husband as clients, he’s additionally lost my father as a client. I understand he’s feels important because he’s a lawyer but everyone deserves respect when being spoken too (even women Jay) . Additionally, although he condescendingly advised me that I would not find a reputable lawyer to deal with me on behalf of my father, I’m glad to say Jay was wrong! They very same day I contacted another lawyer told them everything I tried to tell Jay, and they were very polite, spoke TO ME on behalf of my father, called him in to confirm all that was needed, scheduled a zoom call to go over the documents next week, and advised us that we would then shortly come in person so he could sign. Mark Elder law accomplished in one day what Jay wouldn’t even allow me to express. If you want to be heard, feel considered, and get your affairs handle accurately and expeditiously I advise all to give Mike a call at Mark Elder law! That is all period.
