My entire experience with Rachel Peavy was very confusing, frustrating, and disappointing. I had been referred to Simmons Law Firm by a neighbor who is close friends with Mr. Simmons, and so the firm was doing me a favor by taking on my case as it would be something a little smaller than they typically handled. I was grateful and thankful for their acceptance and expressed my gratitude profusely throughout my time with Rachel, but my experience with Rachel brought me to the point of point-blank asking her if she would like to drop my case or felt like it was a waste of her time, because she not only left me feeling confused and low-priority, but also made me feel like a nuisance. I was the one who had to reach out to HER in most cases for updates on my case (even when she’d give me specific dates that I could expect an update), which was a very clear car accident case where I was found 0% at fault. Shortly after my accident, I had to move back to California for work—twice, Rachel made comments about how I “shouldn’t have moved back to one of the most expensive states in the country” (verbatim) when I expressed my financial struggles related to the additional medical and car payments I was having to make due to the accident. It also took an entire year to finish my case and I ended up with a fifth of what Rachel had told me I should expect to receive—which didn’t even end up covering the medical/aesthetic expenses I ended up paying to fix damage to my person from the accident, let alone cover a new car. She kept repeating that in South Carolina, people would look at me as a healthy 25-year old with a good job and good prospect for life, and so it would be a waste of time to fight further. Her condescending responses, lagging updates, and overall result of the case made me feel not only uncared for, but also that she had a personal problem with me (even though I was extremely grateful and polite to her), and the whole experience felt unprofessional and disappointing.
