My wife was admitted to a psychiatric hospital on a Thursday Morning on a 5150 hold. From that point on I was nothing but stressed out wandering what was going to happen next. Micheal also told me that this particular hospital hated and was afraid of him. If I am ever in the same situation again or if you are dealing with a 5150 issue for the first time, call Micheal. If he's not the best lawyer dealing with 5150, I don't know who would be better. The scary thing about a 5150 is that your loved one loses their freedom to leave the hospital until the hospital decides when your loved one is able to leave. I cannot praise enough the compassion and efficiency I encountered immediately upon my first contact with Michael Simmrin. We reached out to him for help getting a family member discharged from a 5150/5250 hold situation. Under the 5150 hold, our relative was placed in a psychiatric facility that mostly houses homeless individuals and drug addicts, even former inmates, and is in the habit of extending their holds while securing more permanent solutions for them. After being tricked by the hospital to have my son admitted to the facility saying he would get medical help faster. My son’s 72 hour hold was up and the facility he was at changed his 5150 to 5250.
