We were selling an apartment building in Santa Monica. The buyer approached us directly and they had a real estate agent. While it wasn’t a complicated or confrontational transaction, we needed professional advice to protect us & look out for our best interest. So Avi advised us regarding the process and at several points regarding notices, inspections, the timeframe and our obligations. He repeatedly alleviated my concerns as I had little knowledge about the process. He negotiated shortening the escrow period as we requested and made sure there was language in the agreement protecting us. He pushed the buyers at a few points to meet their obligations, including signing off on contingencies and ultimately getting the transaction closed on time. Through the sale, Avi looked out for our interest and simply got the job done.

We had a difficult real estate transaction while trying to purchase an investment property. At the last minute, the Seller refused to sign the Escrow Closing Documents and began making unreasonable demands, including asking us to sign a "Settlement Agreement and General Release" document before they would agree sign. They kept delaying the process by making multiple demands to Escrow and involving multiple attorneys of their own after the Closing Date. I retained him on a limited scope to represent me, and after our initial court appearance (which we unfortunately didn’t win), I spoke with him about continuing to represent me moving forward. He agreed and said we would speak the following Monday so he could begin working on and filing the necessary motions by Wednesday. We communicated both by phone and email. In his email, he outlined the work he would do and the estimated hours it would take. I waited for an invoice or any follow-up—nothing. No email, no invoice, no update. I gave it a few days, thinking he might be busy, but still heard nothing. I followed up several times by phone and email with no response. The following week, I had someone else call him. He actually picked up and gave a vague answer about when he would get back to me—but again, nothing came. At first, I assumed he might be overwhelmed with personal matters, but in the end, the complete lack of communication and disregard for professional follow-through was incredibly disappointing. This is not how a professional should handle clients or commitments. My Opinion, just look around before deiciding on Avi.
