Went in to the office Dec 2024 to get a will completed. We were told that it would be ready in Jan 2025. In May we called and were told they couldn't read our phone number and that they needed further information. Appointment was made for us to go in and sign the completed paperwork. The day of that appointment at our scheduled time which was 1015 - we were told "oh I thought you were coming this afternoon". Then that it would be a few minutes as they had to make the corrections to our documents. After waiting 10-15 minutes for the corrections and still waiting we informed the receptionist that we were leaving as we had concerns that things would not be completed properly. Not a single person reached out to us to inquire/apologize/ explain.

I wish there was a real rating system for lawyers with real statistics showing how effective they actually are. I would bet that Smathers and Smathers would hold the record in the entire State of NC for dragging out cases. Settled cases don't earn fees. It's a disgrace.
