They took my case in 2018. Clear-cut at fault case. It took them seven years to get a trial date where a settlement was negotiated. In 2018, after my injury, I took out a predatory loan, from a lender they recommended, and ended up paying more in interest than the lawyers and I got. If they wouldn't have let my case sink to the bottom of the "to-do" list, I'd have been in better shape financially. Poor communication, hard to reach or get information on what exactly was delaying them. Numerous motions could've been filed to get the Defendant in front of a judge and get my case closed, but weren't. Friendly staff, professional presentation. I just wish I didn't have to pay out-of-pocket for their years of delays. In response to the owner who said they don't remember any case they've handled: Jonathan took the case, Mr. Murray settled the case in Greensburg, PA in March 2025, and Mary was the contact person. Jonathan recommended the lender when I asked where I could get a short-term litigation loan, which turned out to be an eight year loan. The case was against Bob Evans. Does that ring a bell?

34-years of sea service as a junior enlisted seaman and retiring as a Navy Captain after three successful commands at sea. Had to wait for commissioning to "qualify" for USAA insurance; it was only available to commissioned officers in the 1980s, so I was thrilled to get it. During my nearly 40-years as a customer, I noticed the company's approach to service change over the years. The changes appeared as USAA progressively opened its customer base to nearly anyone who can spell military. But I always thought I was well covered, since I always purchased the best and most complete coverage available. After being hit from behind by a very underinsured driver in late 2019, I found out that assumption was incorrect. I suffered neuro damage and trauma induced arthritis that severely degenerated my hip causing extreme pain and progressive loss of mobility and flexibility. My wife suffered a concussion. After beginning the slow-roll of USAA’s deny and delay strategy, I turned to SMT Legal for help. I could not have made a better decision. My attorney was (and will always be) Jonathan Stewart who was also our advisor and ‘gladiator.’ Once he reviewed and took our case, I was completely confident that I had a strong and loyal attorney and ally throughout the process. He secured settlement for the full value of other driver’s minimal policy, and fought the Veteran’s Administration bureaucracy that tried to recover compensation monies for all (associated or not) medical care post collision. When I required acupuncture pain management, USAA’s adjustor refused to compensate even that. The adjustor told me it was because ‘he could not read the Dr’s notes.’ Johnathan aggressively pursued reasonable compensation for the injuries, culminating in USAA finally settling for six-figures. That is what Johnathan initially advised us was reasonable compensation for the injuries. I honestly believe that I found the very best personal injury attorney in Western Pennsylvania, if not the entire Commonwealth, to represent us. Jonathan Stewart earned and deserves my respect and gratitude. SMT Legal is most strongly recommended should a personal injury attorney ever be required.
