In December 2024, I was referred to Attorney Robert L. Spence Jr. for evaluation of a potential medical malpractice case involving my mother. She had suffered a fall at a memory care facility that resulted in a subdural hematoma and required surgery. I submitted all requested medical records and supporting documentation in a timely manner. While I was initially told the case would be reviewed, communication thereafter was inconsistent and largely required me to initiate contact. There was no clear guidance regarding case strategy, timeline, or likelihood of moving forward. After approximately eleven months, I was informed that I could seek alternative counsel if I was unhappy with the timeline. By that point, valuable time had passed given the one-year statute of limitations for such cases. I would have appreciated earlier clarity if the case was not something the firm intended to pursue. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of communication and transparency during a very serious and time-sensitive situation.
