Criminal defense is not something I ever thought I would need. There's a lot to it that most people never think about -- a stay in jail, arguing that you're not a flight risk to get back released on bail or recognizance, utruths and convenient half-truths in police reports, overzealous prosecutors, and judges who are sometimes looking to cover their butts more than being understanding. It's risky and worrisome stuff. Obviously the main reason to hire this team is to absolutely minimize your legal risk. That comes from them really knowing the ropes, arguing on your behalf, and advising you on what steps to take to come through it all as shiny as possible. But I have to say the part I appreciate the most looking back is the assurances and advice I received on what is actually worth worrying about and how to avoid making things worse. They actually care!
