Russell stegman recently represented me in my divorce process and he is a wonderful attorney. He went above and beyond what he promised. He not only got my divorce , my safety was his number 1 priority and he won me spousal support and my ex husband is responsible for my legal fees and attorney fees. They will do their best work to get you the results you want and hopefully even better than what you desire plus at a cost that won't break the bank.

My sister hired Mr. Stegeman to represent her during her divorce, prioritizing her safety and the well-being of our elderly mother, who lives with her. When she retained his services, she requested three urgent protections: a protective order, the right to remain in the marital home, and having the vehicle title transferred into her name. Her primary concern was safety, given her husband’s documented history of violence. Within two months, Mr. Stegeman unilaterally downgraded the protective order to a civil injunction—without informing her of the change or its implications. He assured her the two were effectively the same, which they are not. Since then, her husband has shown up at the home multiple times, issued threats, and forced her to call 911 on two separate occasions. Because the original protective order was dismissed, there have been no legal consequences for these violations. Despite repeatedly expressing her concerns in writing and continuing to make monthly payments toward what was promised as an inclusive fee, the issues she prioritized—protection, housing security, and control of her vehicle—remain unresolved. Disturbingly, a continuance was filed in her case even after she explicitly objected. In my opinion, Mr. Stegeman’s handling of this case has placed both my sister and our mother in continued danger. When legal counsel fails to act on clear, documented threats and ongoing abuse, it raises serious ethical and professional questions. Unfortunately, my sister is now no closer to safety or stability than she was before seeking his help.

I wish it were possible to write a review without having to select a star. I would never recommend Attorney Russell. He charged me $5,090 for a custody and child support case. I paid him $1,500 down on a $4,000 contract on May 17, 2024! He showed up at two court dates and both were postponed. There was never a trial. And the day before the court date on October 29 of this year, 2024, he tells me I have to pay him an additional $1,500 to show up the following day, October 30. Then he tells me that I have only paid him $4,075 - $75 of a fee, meaning I have only paid $4,015. I send him my bank statements where they show $1,090 more than the $4,000, asking him to explain to me why those additional $1,090 if there was never a trial. Minutes later, the Lord sent me an email with a motion sent to the court withdrawing from my case. I wrote him again, asking him to explain to me why that diversion of money was used? And that after court, we could go discuss the payments and see why I've paid so much money and absolutely nothing has been resolved, and why I need to pay an extra $1,500. He just brazenly withdrew. Then, an hour before court, he wrote me saying he waited until the last minute for me to pay him the $1,500, to which he said I wrote to him saying I didn't want him to continue representing me. No one in their right mind pays thousands of dollars and then tells their lawyer to withdraw. I never withdrew it; I didn't say anything to him! I only asked for an explanation as to why he told me to pay $4,015 when I had paid an extra $1,090 and also wanted $1,500 more, and what had I done? Nothing. Nothing that cost more than $5,090. I had to block my cards because he started taking $1,000 a month after we agreed it was $500 a month after the $1,500 deposit. They're a scam; they don't even care about people's situations; they only care about the money. I hope they return all my money. And on top of that, they're playing with my mental health by leaving my case to the last minute! Without resolving anything and losing my money. Don't waste your time or your money. I believe in divine justice and also in earthly justice.

Lost all of my money! I paid him $5,000 plus and he left me in a horrible situation. Lost both hearings and withdrew without even trying to help. Please find a better lawyer to handle your custody hearing. I have 50/50 joint custody and he left me with $700 in child support payments plus arrears.
