I had an excellent experience with this law firm during my divorce process. Attorney Stokes was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive every step of the way. Divorce can be overwhelming, but she made everything clear, organized, and manageable. I always felt informed and supported. I truly appreciate her dedication and would highly recommend her to anyone needing strong and compassionate legal representation.
Laquita represented me during my divorce and did an excellent job. She was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to truly educate me throughout the process. Even after my case concluded, she remained supportive and willing to guide me in the right direction when I needed help outside of her specialty. Her integrity and dedication truly stand out. ⭐ 0 Stars – Do Not Recommend Please do not hire Stokes Law. Very duplicitous! Most importantly!!!!! Every negative review I’ve read currently posted is completely consistent with what I experienced. Divorce is already too difficult for families to end up Hiring an attorney who treats clients poorly, speaks disrespectfully when you don’t understand legal jargon, and refuses to provide clear explanations of the divorce process.. only adds unnecessary stress. Again, my experience was consistent with all of the negative reviews I read posted currently . Additionally I believe my attorney fraternized with opposing counsel in a way that’s unethical. It felt as though I was against my ex husband his attorney and my attorney! I was billed for vague, roundabout answers and even attempted phone calls. My invoice reflects charges for an IWO that Attorney Stokes knew was I needed for child support and alimony from the beginning—yet after I personally contacted the courthouse, I discovered it was never filed. Despite this, I was billed $510 for an “IWO draft and approval.” In total, I paid over $15,000, and honestly felt as though I represented myself. Sometimes Attorney stokes would not even acknowledge my questions or she would respond with what day are you paying the bill! And again I paid over $15K This experience made it clear that I was treated as just another paycheck rather than a client deserving professionalism, clarity, and accountability. I would not recommend this firm to anyone going through such an important and life-altering process. PLEASE DON’T HIRE STOKES AND STOKES!

DON'T DO IT... RUN... FAR FAR AWAY. THE STOKES FAMILY LAW FIRM IS A JOKE. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY... AND TRUST ME THEY ARE GOING TO TRY TO GET ALL OF YOUR MONEY IF YOU CHOOSE THEM TO REPRESENT YOU. I AM GOING TO SHARE A SNIPPET OF WHAT I HAD TO PAY... NOTICE THAT I WAS CHARGED SEVERAL TIMES FOR HER HAVING TO MAKE CORRECTIONS ON THE FINAL DIVORCE DECREE... I WAS CHARGED $390 JUST FOR HER DRAFTING THE FDD AND SENDING EMAILS. FYI... SHE HAS THE CHEAPEST RETAINER FEE IN WHICH I PAID $2,500 BUT AT THE END OF IT... I WAS OUT OF ALMOST $8,000. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

What we can share generally is that all clients receive and execute a written fee agreement that clearly explains billing practices, hourly rates, and how fees may increase in contested matters due to additional drafting, court hearings, revisions, and communications.<br><br>In the Memphis legal market, we are aware that contested divorce retainers often begin in the $5,000–$7,500 range or higher. Our firm intentionally structures retainers to be more accessible while remaining transparent about how total fees may vary depending on the complexity of the case.<br><br>These concerns were previously addressed directly, and our firm stands by the services provided and the fees assessed pursuant to the fee agreement, which explains that fees may vary and increase depending on the nature of a matter. We are pleased to have brought the matter to a resolution.
Called for information, a woman answered and asked me did I read the website with a rude chuckle and immediately told me go to the website and told me the fees lol I went to the site out of curiosity and it says call or book online. Ill pass. If you cant even be courteous for initial contact then im sure you wont help me with my divorce.

Believe what you reviews that you see. Attorney Stokes was on the mother’s side from the time I walked in her door. It never felt like she was doing anything in my best interest. The day we went to court, I owed $57,705 in arrearage. The Judge credited $60,411 but because Attorney Stokes never took the time to see what I owed, the child support attorney brought in an outdated order that said I owed $66,741, I left court owing over $6k. I should’ve had over a $2k credit to my child support account. Don’t be fooled by their responses, that why I provided case and point, now weasel your way out of this review. She was definitely not prepared and I’m still definitely paying the price. Now ask me did she apologize for not being remotely prepared, let me answer, NOPE.
