Gary was a consummate professional while also retaining a personal aspect in helping us. He communicated clearly and kept us informed every step of the way. We couldn’t be more delighted.

This practice wasted my time. I initially contacted them in July and the attorney agreed to assist. I provided information and didn’t hear back for 1 1/2 months. I then provided the final information needed and it’s been a month of silence. Overall I spent hours collecting the requested data just to have been ghosted. Very unprofessional. EDIT: Saw the response back. When someone is lying and calling you a liar - petty diabolical. But checks out with the comments you left on other reviews. I have emails in which you stated you would submit a demand letter. And you didn’t. My review is accurate and true. If you put the same amount of effort in contacting clients back as you do in responding hatefully to these reviews, you would probably have less negative reviews.

Gary represented me with a traffic case and I was very pleased with his service and outcome. His communication was great and he did exactly what he said he would do. I would have him represent me again if needed.

I have been trying to get divorced for years, Mr. Straw was able to get it all done over email, no uncomfortable court visits, no driving long ways to go sign forms because I reside in Daleville, which is about an hour from the office. This business never calls you. I have called for 2 weeks. No calls back. I am wondering if he is even a attorney. I have never talked to you. I had appointments on Monday with you. You don't return calls. You don't have a good reputation. I see people with bad reviews on you

I reached out to this office on 3 separate occasions. I called twice, left a voice mail, and filled out their "Contact Us" page, and haven't gotten a phone call or email back from them in over a week. This office is only one of two included in my MetLife legal package at work, so I thought I would at least call them and see if they could help. Upon writing this review, low and behold I get a response to it within a few hours, but the owner is pretty much calling me a liar, even though my phone records prove I called and web history proves I visited their site and submitted a form. The fact this office dropped the ball, and now I'm being called a liar due to their lack of organization is laughable at best. The owners only response to negative feedback is calling it a scam because he is incapable of taking any sort of personal accountability for his business being disorganized. You can look at his responses on here to other clients that left negative feedback to see what I mean. If this were a scam or not legit, I wouldn't have taken the time to write a lengthy review outlining my experience here. I left a fully accurate account of my experience with this office, just for the owner to get defensive and say it was my fault because they can't return a phone call or email? Yikes! And for the record, I called on 11/13, filled out the contact us page on 11/13, called again on 11/15 and left a message under Richard Hale. It would appear as though this lawyer is more concerned with their Google reviews than calling people back or taking any kind of personal accountability! His response to my feedback should be all you need to make an informed decision on whether you want to conduct business here or not.

Mr. Straw is a very unprofessional lawyer...he charged me for a custody case for my son and never represented me in any way. He had told me that I had to go down the court in Lynchburg to file the petition myself after i had made a $3500 deposit for him to represent me in this issue. His reason was, the parent have to file the motion (this was far from the truth), then after i did some research and spoke to other lawyers i confronted him with the facts! he then said he would go down to the court to file the motion After many series of excuses as to why he couldn't make it downtown to file the motion for 3 weeks, he then told a lie that he had filed the motion. i waited one week and called the court to ask if a motion as been filed and they said NO! i again confronted Mr. Straw and asked for a refund at which point he said he would withhold 45% of the retainer as per the contract signed. He is a scam!

Originally, (1.5 years ago est) I contacted Gary to represent me in a case with my ex for child support and custody. We have a disabled child. At that time I asked Mr. Straw to request the court to look at extending our sons child support past the age of 18 because he is permanently disabled and will not be able to provide for himself or care for himself in daily living. Mr. Straw told me this couldnt be done and I trusted that. I now come to find out that that is incorrect and the non-custodial parent DOES infact have an obligation to help support the "disabled adult child". I now have to hire another attorney and shell out more money with an already stretched income. Being a disabled Austistic person with 2 Autistic kids, I trusted that this attorney was doing right by me. I feel like--He was just trying to get the most money for the least work. Very disappointed. When I pointed out my disappointment and tried to help him understand our situation better, thinking maybe I wasnt communicating well enough... he told me "he knows the law" and I was "rude". He does not seem to know disabled custody law. Thank you.

Worst experience of my entire life, very unprofessional, rude. I called to have Gary Straw contact my brother since he had been trying to get I touch to him for around three months non stop about his case and finally the day before the hearing I get him on the line only to have him hang up in my face. I can definitely see why every one said “I’ll pray for your brother” after finding out who his lawyer was now.
