I had a very disappointing experience with this mediation service. I felt pressured into signing an agreement that was not equitable and was clearly more favorable to the other party. Rather than facilitating a balanced discussion, I was repeatedly told this was “the best I was going to get,” which made me feel unheard and unsupported. Instead of addressing the concerns I raised during mediation, I was advised to “go back to court” if issues came up later. That defeats the purpose of mediation and has now resulted in additional legal costs for me because the issues I brought up were not properly addressed at the time. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this mediator to anyone looking for a fair, neutral, and thorough mediation process.

My case dragged on for more than three years and was only truly resolved in late 2025. It was one of the most exhausting and heartbreaking experiences of my life. Sonya and Steve were extraordinary. They didn’t just represent me; they supported me through one of the most traumatic and challenging periods of my life. From the start, they proved themselves to be a powerhouse team in the courtroom. From my Alimony trial to the Equitable Distribution hearing, they were prepared, confident, and deeply knowledgeable. Steve’s financial expertise was unmatched. He identified critical flaws in the opposing experts' testimony and presented them so clearly that it played a major role in the favorable outcome I received. Sonya was poised, strategic, and exceptional in how she handled the courtroom. Together, they were seamless: when one took the lead, the other was always working behind the scenes to strengthen the case. Despite the judge issuing the Equitable Distribution order, the defendant failed to adhere to any of the court’s directives, and I was forced to pursue multiple motions, contempts, and sanctions to enforce the order. It was emotionally draining, financially devastating, and unbelievably unfair. Yet Sonya and Steve carried the weight of this case with absolute integrity, meeting every deadline, following every rule, and doing far more than what was required to protect me. Despite repeatedly failing to meet his obligations, the defendant still dumped more than 6,500 pages of documents just days before trial. Sonya and Steve worked through the holidays to prepare and make sure I was protected. Their dedication was beyond anything I expected. During Sonya's secured leave, Steve carried the full weight of finalizing my case. He worked with the defendant’s fourth attorney and navigated constant obstruction and delay, yet he never gave up. He stayed patient, strategic, and compassionate, and ultimately convinced the defendant to accept the settlement rather than risk even harsher consequences in court. During the hardest moments of this case, Steve was the one who kept me steady. His clarity, patience, and genuine care guided me through times when the judicial system felt overwhelming and discouraging. He always made sure I understood my options and never felt alone in the process. I could not have reached the end of this without him. This process has taken a tremendous toll on my life, my health, my finances, and my peace of mind. Yet Sonya and Steve stood by me the entire time with professionalism, integrity, and genuine care. They are exceptional attorneys and extraordinary human beings. They fought for me, supported me, and gave me strength when I had none left. I would recommend them to anyone who wants attorneys who are brilliant, compassionate, and relentless in the pursuit of justice. They have earned my trust, my respect, and my deepest gratitude. Their support changed the course of my life, and I will forever be thankful.

From my personal experience. I spoke with the paralegal Shirley Hill for Attorney Melissa Hill. Shirley spoke very highly of Attorney Hill and emphasized how committed she is to fairness and proper treatment. Shirley was warm and genuine, and she spent a lot of time talking with me about my situation. However, she did not follow through on keeping me updated about whether Attorney Hill could take my case. After several conversations, Shirley called today to say the firm would not be taking my case, but she did not provide any explanation. Given the amount of time and detail she encouraged me to share, I expected more clarity and communication. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this law firm. Please LOOK Elsewhere.

I had the least professional experience of my life working with Lacy Hansen at Tharrington Smith regarding a speeding ticket I received last year. She told me when I initially contacted her she could get my ticket dismissed no problem, and then punted it off for months. Which proved to be a big mistake because the DAs office changed their stance on tickets of my nature, according to her. Then she had a baby after she had repeatedly continued my case, so I cut her some slack. I’m a mom. But once I had an actual trial date set, (which she’d known about for more than a month) I had to reach out to her the day before to see what our strategy would be. She hadn’t looked to see who the judge would be that would hear the case- even though that’s scheduled for months in advance. Turned out it wasn’t a judge she felt confident in representing me against so at 10 pm the night before she just highly encouraged me to plea guilty- and rambled on and on in an incredibly unprofessional manner about how stressful her life is, how disgruntled she was at work and why she was struggling to do her job. I could have plead guilty a year earlier and hundreds of dollars earlier as well! She hadn’t prepared in any way for trial. And the next morning at court, she was double booked and wasn’t even with me until right before my case was heard. It was a total debacle. I wouldn’t recommend using the firm to handle any legal matters, given the lack of ability I experienced over just a speeding ticket. Hate to leave a bad review anywhere, but prospective clients deserve to be cautioned.
