After searching everywhere for a lawyer who truly specializes in Hague Convention international child abduction cases, I finally found one who has both the experience and proven expertise—Andrew Bonderud. Many attorneys told me they had Hague experience, but when I asked them to show me actual court dockets they had worked on, none could provide one. Andrew was different. He showed me real case history, and it was clear he has walked this path before. From a father to father, Andrew really connected with me on a personal level. He understood not just the legal battle, but the emotional fight of trying to bring your children home. Andrew is someone you can trust. He doesn’t just talk—he acts. He is willing to fly anywhere to help reunite a parent with their child. If you are facing the nightmare of international child abduction, Andrew is the attorney you want in your corner. It wasn’t Andrew, but it was another attorney. He really wouldn’t listen to me at all about a civil rights case. My orbital socket was fractured, my cheekbone was fractured, my nasal bone was fractured, My sinus cavities were crushed on the right side, my score was fractured, and a 2.5 inch jacket laceration requiring six stitches two staples. There’s a lot of public records law violations. There was a lack and internal affairs investigation, which was a meaningless investigation because it was never sent over to an internal affairs agent. I try to explain all this to the guy and he rushed me off the phone soon as he heard it was a gay relationship. If you see anything on YouTube about these people just actually go find somebody else because like I said Andrew‘s associate ran me completely off the phone. And there’s a numerous amount of hate crime violations, as well as civil rights violations that happened to me. He wouldn’t even listen to the whole story. Not to type a law firm for a civil rights case I can tell you that.

Before you retain this attorney, consider my experience: excessive fees, disregard for client interests, and behavior that appeared motivated more by financial gain than genuine legal support. Just after hiring Andrew Bonderud, I immediately regretted it. His assistant contacted me about removing a Google review I’d posted about someone else — and then he billed me 15 minutes for the call. He also forwarded me an old, irrelevant email and charged 15 minutes for it. This pattern of billing for unnecessary work continued until I challenged the charges, at which point he issued some credits — acknowledging the fradulent and overbilling. I’ve repeatedly felt that he lacked interest in representing me properly. When I politely requested a refund of the unused retainer to hire someone else, he refused. He even told me that if two or three members of his team work on the same issue or read the same email, I’ll be charged multiple times — a clause nowhere to be found in the agreement. When I provided complete details to complete a task, he failed to act. Days later, he claimed that I’d placed restrictions on him — but the only “restriction” was my refusal to pay for duplicate work. In essence, he implied that unless I let him overcharge, he wouldn’t do the work. Despite paying a substantial retainer, he ultimately withdrew from the case and refused to return any unused funds. He threatened to file a lawsuit against me should I make the matter public. Consider this a cautionary tale — look elsewhere for legal support that values integrity and professionalism.

Remember the name Austin Kwikkel, because this outstanding young lawyer will achieve greatness one day. Austin exhibits an unusual combination of academic excellence, quick-witted intelligence on his feet, confidence, humility and conscientiousness. I’m an old guy, I’ve been around the block. My biggest issue with all the other lawyers I’ve hired in the past was that I never felt like I was getting the same value out of their representation as the money I paid. They always manage to disappoint me, and I always walk away unimpressed. They frequently take advantage of their clients’ perceived weak intellect by power tripping and unethically billing. It's not their innate disposition, the profession turns them that way. Not with Austin. He's is one of those exceedingly rare lawyers who are not cut throat greedy and condescending with their clients. Importantly, Austin delivers results, he delivers value. If he doesn’t deliver, which is probably infrequent or non-existent, you can rest assured that he’s conscientious enough to not bill unfairly.

Very helpful and responsive, I used Jacob McCrea in the past and he was very helpful in our situation. Now years later I reach out on a Friday and bamm instant response. Even with Covid outta work Jacob took time to hear me out . While waiting to see where this new instance is going , I reached out again and he actually answered again. Like we work together all the time .This guy is awesome even when I approach him with something outside his wheelhouse he recommends me to the right team . Definitely a good guy to have in your corner and actually know he’s there .

Hey, LTJG in the navy and I can’t recommend Andrew enough. I was in a very serious situation and I actually switched to Andrew from another firm. He and his assistant combed through hundreds of pages of texts for me to clear my name with hard evidence. The man is a gamer as well, at trial he eviscerated the defense. The difference was the personal connection he made to really understand the case. From the prep sessions we did to his performance at trial I really don't think it’s possible to prepare and perform better than he did. I can not recommend highly enough.
