Excellent Legal Representation I cannot recommend Claiborne Law Firm highly enough! From the very first consultation, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. They took the time to thoroughly understand my case and kept me informed at every step of the process. Thanks to their hard work and expertise, we achieved a favorable outcome that I honestly wasn’t sure was possible. The attorneys went above and beyond to fight for my rights and made me feel supported throughout the entire process. If you’re looking for a law firm that truly cares about their clients and delivers results, Claiborne is the one to trust. Thank you for everything!

Davids work along with the team saved my daughter's life. They helped to fight for her and helped to change the course of her life but also our families life. Thanks to David taking a case that was not as big as others, taking a chance to fight, being patient and keeping us aware of everything. Thank you Clayborne Firm.

David Utter with the Claiborne Firm does have a slight bit of classist and maybe racist in him. After bad customer service and interrupting my consultation twice, he emailed me this morning to let me know he couldn’t take my case on a contingency basis, WHICH I NEVER ASKED FOR! Please read the email below… I responded for a free consultation which I actually did not receive, never spoke on the extensive amount of case hours(of which I am aware my case might take). Please do not use this firm…

Response from owner

Dear Shartina,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand that navigating legal challenges can feel overwhelming and bring up many emotions. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience has left you feeling dissatisfied.

Throughout my career as a civil rights lawyer, much of it spent at nonprofits dedicated to serving individuals who could not afford legal representation, I have poured my heart into addressing injustices like racism and classism. This mission has been central to my work for over three decades and is most likely why you were referred to our firm.

Although I was unable to take on your case directly, I provided you with the best possible legal guidance and advice to assist you with your pending legal situation. I trust that you will eventually find a resolution to your matter, and I wish you nothing but the best in doing so.

It would mean a great deal to me if you would reconsider taking down the negative review.

Sincerely,
David Utter
William Claiborne is, without question, the most skilled and tenacious divorce attorney I could have ever asked for. When I was blindsided by a barrage of legal accusations aimed at stripping me of custody of my 8-year-old son, I was in desperate need of a legal advocate who could not only defend me but truly fight for what mattered most—my relationship with my child. With only ten days to find representation, I turned to a trusted friend who didn’t just recommend William based on personal experience but on his stellar reputation as a fierce legal opponent. In fact, they had watched him decisively outmaneuver their own attorney during their divorce. That level of respect and recommendation from the opposing side spoke louder than any review ever could, and from the moment I met William, I understood why. William is a master of the law. His intelligence, strategic thinking, and comprehensive understanding of the legal system are unmatched. Even with only days to prepare, William dove into the complexities of my case, developed an airtight strategy, and ensured that I was informed and ready every step of the way. His attention to detail was unparalleled, and his ability to navigate the courtroom—knowing when to press and when to pull back—was nothing short of surgical. Alongside him, Kimberly Griffin, his paralegal, displayed an incredible capacity to process information at lightning speed, ensuring no detail was overlooked. Together, they formed a legal team that was seamless, efficient, and exceptionally powerful. Throughout the process, the ultimate goal was always clear—maintaining my relationship with my son. William never lost sight of that, even when the other side employed every tactic imaginable to undermine me. His calm under pressure, combined with his relentless pursuit of the facts, ensured that we remained one step ahead. William’s professionalism, preparedness, and persuasive courtroom presence consistently gave me confidence, even when the situation felt overwhelming. He fought for my son and me as if it were personal to him, and that made all the difference. When the final verdict came, the weight of what William and Kimberly had achieved was overwhelming. I had been awarded primary custody of my son, a result that once seemed like a distant hope. As the decision was read, tears of relief and joy filled the room—Kim cried, I cried, and even William, typically composed, became choked up. That moment—hugging both William and Kimberly in shared victory—will forever be etched in my memory. Winning custody of my son meant securing his future, preserving our bond, and protecting him from a life where he would have been deprived of one of his parents. It was the most important battle of my life, and William made it possible. No amount of money, property, or material gain could ever compare to the value of that victory. William Claiborne didn’t just represent me; he fought for my family as if it were his own. His professionalism, skill, and dedication are beyond compare, and I am forever grateful for his unwavering support. If you are looking for an attorney who will go above and beyond, who will fight with everything they have for what matters most, William is your person. I cannot recommend him and his team highly enough—they truly changed the course of my life and my son’s future.

Set AND PAID $400 for a consultation, discussed my case with them on how a police chief is aiding in the abuse of my elderly mother and took out a false police report on me when I challenged them (but they dropped it later). The Claiborne attorneys referred me to Adult Protective Services and told me they'd email me some direct contacts. I never got the list . A paralegal could have told me this for free. THANKS FOR ADDING FIRE TO MY ANGUISH! My mother died alone. FYI, when I spoke to an APS Agent and told her who the players were, she immediately stated, "get a dash cam for your car asap," then two days later stated, she "and the police chief don't feel there is any abuse, goodbye." I NOW HAVE MEDICAL RECORDS STATING SEVERAL CONCERNS OF ABUSE, BODY PARTS INFECTED AND HAD TO BE REMOVED, A MIS-NOTARIZED POA BY THE POLICE CHIEFS COUSIN, NOTARIZED AFTER MY MOTHER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DEMENTIA-HER SIGNING OVER HER HOME AND ALL ASSETS, BANK RECORDS SHOWING OTHER PERSONS BILLS BEING PAID, INCIDENT REPORTS WHERE MY MOTHER WAS TRYING TO ESCAPE AND THE POLICE RETURNED HER TO THEIR BUDDIES, HER BEGGING.......but "there's no sign of abuse!" All it took was just a little paralegal digging! I just hope everyone at The Claiborne Firm sleeps well! Yall turning me away after charging me a huge fee was devastating.

A huge shout out to the Claiborne Firm, Will and Kim. The Claiborne Firm was spot on when it came to my divorce. With me working across the country they made sure all my needs were taken care of. When it came to mediation they got the job completed. Along with the final divorce papers being signed by the judge within 24hours. I would recommend Will and Kim to everyone out there. Very professional and got the job done. Will and Kim I can't thank you all enough for what you accomplished for myself and kids. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Called yesterday. They said they would call back today. I called after waiting all day. Told Kim we got the number from the army referral. She laughed and said we’ve been trying to get off that list for years. After laughing at me a couple more times and laughing as she said she was sorry for laughing I hung up. Such a joke!!

Response from owner

Hi Dusty,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We value your feedback. Sometimes communication can be misconstrued over the phone and I believe that is what happened.
I can assure you that Kim was not laughing at you or your legal matter. She is very caring and compassionate with all of our clients. Unfortunately, our firm does not provide pro bono services for domestic matters. Please give me a call directly when it is convenient for you. (912) 236-9559
I would be more than happy to refer you to another attorney in town that can help you.
Attorney David Utter

I was going through a horrible divorce and custody battle over my youngest son. When it came time for me to get a lawyer I stumbled across the Claiborne Law Firm's website. I was immediately impressed. I was able to get a meeting with William R Claiborne very quickly. He was extremely professional and made me feel my concerns were really heard. When it came time to begin prepping for the court date William's paralegal Kim worked tirelessly on my case. I was always able to reach her no matter what. She was absolutely wonderful. I wanted a shark lawyer and that is exactly what I got. William and Kim reunited my family. My divorce was finalized and I was able to get my son returned to me. If I ever have to get a lawyer again I will definitely come back. If you need a lawyer go with The Claiborne Law Firm, you will not be disappointed.

David saved my brothers life and our family's. He is amazing: smart, caring, COMMUNICATIVE, works like a dog. The first time I called him he spent time on the phone and agreed to go visit my brother right away to talk to him even before we hired him. My brother's case was with 2 other totally ineffective defense attorneys we had horrific experiences with that lasted over 2 years. Total waste of time and money and our family nearly suffered nervous breakdowns dealing with this over 2 years and a few months while my brother sat in jail. After hiring the Claiborne firm he was out in just over 4 weeks. Incredible experience. Even though this nightmare of total injustice is finally over, we are still in touch with David now and then just because he is such an important person in our lives and he's such an amazing person !

I just spoke to David, and he was incredibly helpful, offered legal advice, and painted a clear picture of possible scenarios for my situation. He was kind, down-to-earth, and had a calming presence over the phone. Thanks, David!
