They are the worst debt collection company I have ever worked with they refuse to accept payment stating they need to re open the account they give you the run around and make paying off collection nearly impossible I have been trying to get this debt payed for the better part of a week and they still have no answers for me and refuse to accept payment

Edit: May God pay for your soul if P&C is the only thing between you and closing an estate. WARNING: IF YOU PAY YOUR DEBT TO PHILLIPS AND COHEN, FOLLOW UP! DO NOT TRUST P&C TO PROCESS IT! We were assured in October we would get proof of payment sent to the court/our lawyer. It's now the end of of the year, and it it was never sent. Not to mention there were other issues before that. There were late fees we needed removed because they were added after death, and that was an uphill climb. Whoever sends the bills don't know how to use a xerox, and if we asked to speak to the manager, we got hung up on.

They seem courteous and kind and they have or display professionalism. They specialize in getting the job done in all areas and aspects of life. Name it and they will handle it

I can not think of anything more than they were very helpful and understanding in accepting a reduced amount to close my account as I am not working and on disability so it is very hard to make ends meet

Unbelievably disgusting, this is a “company” who leaches on those who are experiencing grief! A total sham. My mother hasn’t been gone a month and they send something out, and wouldn't give me no info unless I first game them my personal info first. I pray people do not fall for this during their time of grief!

We have been trying to get a payoff letter for my late grandfathers debt. They have had the file for almost two months and still have no information for us. This is costing our family money everyday. We would just like a payoff letter so we can pay this debt. Why is it so hard? Terrible business practices

Complete scam company.. Send me a letter stating that I have died. And then I called and try to talk to him about it. They want me to submit my birthday and my Social Security number and all this personal information but won’t tell me anything that has to do with this letter. They are a complete scam and they are just out to try to gain people‘s information to commit fraud.

Great company who listens to your concerns and is there to assist along the way during these tough times.

Calls constantly and harasses people with no regard for their personal wellbeing.

My sister passed intestate & with no $. They contacted me 2X and I refuse to respond. She had a husband so if they found me, they need to find him.

This company behaves in a shameful and disrespectful manner. A relative of mine died, and I tried to work with them to address the debt situation. They handled the whole situation terribly. I cannot believe Barclay's VISA would want a company like this to represent them.

This debt collection company had the court send me a letter I am being sued for my deceased husbands debt before they even sent me a bill. I get a bill a week later stating I owe 18k for debt I know nothing about. The bill had nothing itemized nor does it even say what it is for. I wrote back stating its not my debt. 2 weeks later after I stated it's not my debt I received another bill stating I now owe 27k! I received the same day from the county court I am being sued for 27k! I have my attorney looking into it, but this company needs to be audited for scamming innocent people. Highway robbery and the most disgusting way of handling customers.watch put for this company. I have reported them in the sake of helping others in my situation. You must report to Federal Trade Comission if you have a similar situation. I wish I could give them zero stars!

If I could give them negative stars, I would. They called my phone for the wrong person & their reps were playing games on the phone, sitting in silence, not answering my questions. When I called back to speak with a manager, she was rude about it & made excuses for the reps. Guess who's not getting paid?

I just paid my dead moms bill through them. I have contacted an attorney and press everyone else to do so also. I am also filling with the federal trade commission. They tried to get me to pay more that what was owed. Did not respond to the emails I sent that they asked me to send. Told me I could not put a mobile home on my moms land in my name even though the home was in someone else's name and I was buying it. They said the money collected was going to merrick bank but I just got off the phone with merrick and they said the account was sold off. So they are full of lies. If they file on an estate lawyer up. If they just scared you do what I just did. Lawyer up. File with the federal trade commission and do them how they did you.

Trying to bully me into paying a debt that my late father owed. There was no estate, and I’m not responsible for paying this debt!

Predators and dishonest. They get public records of the deceased and prey on survivors and their estates to try and get information and make relatives worry there is a debt that is not there. Our estate attorney will deal with them, but beware and don't respond or give them any information.

Rude and unprofessional are the best words to describe this company. Nothing but rude people.

Got a call about a recent death from a VERY rude person asking personal details. If they want answers they could be a little more professional and have info instead of only asking for it
