Ryan Gertz provided outstanding criminal defense representation for my loved one. We had heard he was one of the top criminal defense attorneys in Southeast Texas, and after working with him, we completely understand why. My loved one was facing multiple serious felony charges with a jaw-dropping sentencing range for a nonviolent crime. We were hoping for a fair plea deal from the DA but not expecting much in the way of mercy. On top of that, my loved one has a medical condition that would make even a shorter prison sentence potentially fatal. It took about three months from arraignment for Ryan to negotiate an incredible deal—one that can allow my loved one to move forward and rebuild their life (potentially without a conviction) and with only a brief prison cognitive program and then deferred adjudicated probation. Ryan negotiated for all but one of the charges to be dropped entirely. Throughout the process, Ryan and his team were responsive, compassionate, and professional. Both he and Randi went above and beyond to ensure the jail was aware of and handling my loved one’s medical needs multiple times, even after the plea deal was done.
