Tge family used to think highly of this attorney and referred family and friends to their office. Sadly, we can longer recommend this lawyer. The lawfirm was working on my mother's wrongful death case from a nursing home. We had proof signed by a state judge that the nursing home was neglectful and caused injury. Steve got greedy and wanted more money. We just wanted to make the home responsible for a terrible loss to our family. Steve put some rookie in charge of the case and during an office move, they lost all our paperwork and never filled the suit. They indicated that we never responded to some supposed requests to pay more money for this extra work HE wanted to pursue for damages. By the time our family reached out to him on where the case was... he indicated that our family could no longer pursue our side of the lawsuit for neglect and harm due to time statues. He had always been competent before, and never thought for a second we had any reason to think he wouldn't be this time as well. We never imagined he would be such a disapointment after all these years. He provided no apology and no real explanation for the law firms error. He certainly did not take responsibility for the mistake either. The lawfirm should be held responsible to pay for what his office did, and got wrong. Our case was open and closed before he got greedy. Go elsewhere, or be warned. Maybe he'll do good this time for you, or maybe he won't. Our family will not recommend him or use hime ever again. Very sad.
The review from Ms Oberer is obviously misdirected to the wrong law firm because it contains so many misstatements. We have handled many nursing home injury and death cases, none of which resulted in a dissatisfied client. We NEVER assigned any case to a “rookie” lawyer. We have only employed experienced litigators. We have NEVER lost a client file. That would almost always generate a complaint to either the Missouri Bar or the St. Louis Bar Association, neither of which has ever occurred in my 50 years as a licensed Missouri attorney or the 40 years of The Glassman Law Firm’s existence. Finally, we represent injured clients on a percentage basis as set out in a signed contingent fee contract. We do not earn or charge any fee unless, and until, we win an award for the client. For this reason, it is impossible that we ever asked this client to pay us “more money” when we never collected and money from or for her. In fact, we have no record of any nursing home case file being opened for Ms. Oberer or her mother.

I know we successfully settled a case for a gentleman named Frank Oberer many years ago whom I believe to have been Ms. Oberer’s husband. It is possible that Ms Oberer called me to inquire about another case after that, and after discussing the details, on the phone, I advised her that we could NOT accept the case because either the liability for the injuries was very doubtful, or that because the injuries in the case were too modest to justify the high cost of retaining expert witnesses to pursue a court trial. In any event, we NEVER ACCEPTED a nursing home case from Ms. Oberer or her her mother. Neither of them ever signed any contract retaining our firm in the matter she alleges in her complaint. She most likely confused The Glassman Law Firm with another law firm that accepted her case and then disappointed her.
