The Law Office of Heidi M Vessel

My mother passed away in 2024. Without my knowledge or my brother’s knowledge, my stepfather and sister completed a succession through this office. We were never notified, contacted, or included—even though we are my mother’s biological children. When I called to request basic copies of the succession, I was treated with extreme hostility and secrecy. The first woman who answered the phone (a Caucasian woman) refused to give her name at all, which immediately raised red flags. I was then transferred to another staff member who only provided a last name Ms.Lance and told me I could not receive copies or information—despite the fact that I am a legal heir. I provided my name and number months ago and was told someone would return my call. No one ever did. What makes this even more disturbing is that I already have certified copies of the succession from the Clerk of Court, yet this office still refused to provide any additional information or documentation related to the case. I was polite, calm, and respectful in every interaction, yet the staff was rude, evasive, and acted almost fearful to speak—as if they had something to hide. This office’s behavior felt shady, sketchy, and highly unprofessional, especially given the seriousness of succession matters and the legal rights of biological children. Transparency and professionalism were completely lacking. I would strongly caution anyone dealing with estates or successions to proceed carefully with this office and to ensure all heirs are properly informed and represented.
