Mr Steele is a very nice man. But nice is not what you need when you need an attorney to represent you. He wrote letters that were never sent. I was charged them. Multiple times I had emailed Mr Steele only to get an "Out of the office" email returned which was usually for vacations. Our case was a time sensitive case. Due to his casual time frame, we opted out of the case as it was no longer beneficial and a waste of our money. Then I received the final bill from his office. They charged me for a closing letter after I was the one that initiated the end of our agreement. I didn't even get 1/2 of my money back. Yes, it was a case of uncertainty, but I feel that money and time was wasted and not taken seriously.

Ya know.. I gave this man the benefit of the doubt and removed the first review at his request. But to say this man is worthless as the day is long, would be an understatement. After waiting years to get an estate settled, which wasn't just his fault - but also Roanoke County, the amount he originally told me was $30K less.. Then, as I take the check to the bank, they called him to verify information and the dude was ASLEEP and the person who answered advised he - "couldn't be bothered". It explains so much. Literally, call any other lawyer you possibly can.. Because, apparently, sleep is more important.

James Steele Senior “represented” me in a landlord-tenant dispute with my college-aged son who had safety issues at his first apartment. Mr. Steele’s inability or unwillingness to address my case timely or competently, cost me over $1020 (in fees to him) - and I paid out my sons *entire lease*. He knew I am a single parent and taking my > $1,000 while completely failing to represent me was completely unethical. It deeply harmed my family financially. He sent one letter for this price (very late) to the other party, and sent me a couple of emails (after I begged and pleased with the office for him to get back to me). In his emails he not once even REMEMBERED MY NAME. My one hour consultation ($320) was mostly him blathering about himself. This was not Christian behavior, it harmed us greatly financially when they knew we needed it and their family of lawyers certainly doesn’t… it was totally lacking integrity. He should have known he was unable to represent me and/or present a refund. Not Christian. Not morally correct. Just a terrible, expensive experience.

Allen Steele and his team supported us on a will issue and I was super impressed both with his customer service and high-quality legal advice -- but also with the way he advised us where to spend money and where not to (which I really appreciated because we could have thrown big $$ at this issue but Allen really helped us keep it low-cost - meaning he worried more about our needs than his own). While we worked with Allen, the entire process was highly ethical and professional. -- and his legal advice was smart and on-target -- and our case was decided in our favor. I highly recommend Allen. He cares about his clients, is cost effective, and extremely knowledgeable. His office and assistant was also super helpful. I'm not sure one can ask for any better representation.
