My roommate called for a free consultation. We have an active Anti Harassment order against a neighbor in our apt complex that was just granted just last month. He is the victim. The neighbor was given the opportunity by the judge to appeal the details and have a day in court. He did not and he agreed to the facts stated. The judge even explained to the neighbor since he thought we also had to stay away from his apt that the order is not against us. This was a couple of weeks ago now. The neighbor saw my roommate the other day, their was no communication what so ever and the next day the neighbor had a anti harassment order served to my roommate. Their is no validity to the order, the neighbor is just using this to continue harassing us. And he thinks there is no actual repercussion for doing this. Before my roommate could get three sentences out, Nick interrupted him to tell him it sounded like he was wanting him to say he didn't need a lawyer and if he wasn't being hired he didn't want to waste his time. My roommate never said he didn't want a lawyer. He just wanted to say the basic details of the situation and get an idea of what Nick thought it might cost. Same as any consultation either of us have never had. Nick was rude, made it clear multiple times as to how busy he was. Which again, he could have just said he had too full of a caseload. Not act like he needed a guarantee to be hired to do a free consultation

He only wants to talk to you if you are committed to hiring him. Flat out refused an initial consultation, wouldn't hear facts of the case, kept assuming things he would have to do to have any position on my representation. How do you decide if you want to hire a lawyer if they refuse to hear you out first? Super disappointed.
