Walter Madison is a terrible public defender. My brother had no prior convictions, no criminal history, and was at the time a college student. There was little to no evidence, yet he was sentence to three years because of POOR representation. Throughout his case, Walter was condescending, unprofessional( would be late or not show up at all for hearings), and EXTREMELY poor communication. After sentencing, he instructed my brother to reach out after six month so his judicial hearing could be requested. When we followed that direction, calls and emails were dodged repeatedly. Months later, after a VERY condescending conversation, Walter changed course and said it was not the right time and advised waiting until 9month to 1year mark. When my brother reached out again during the time frame, there was no response at all. It's been months since we made contact. This level of representation is unacceptable, especially when someone freedom is at stake, I will be pursing a formal hearing regarding his conduct.

WARNING- This attorney failed to meet even the most basic standards of professional responsibility as evidenced by the below. Throughout my experience, I encountered a consistent pattern of poor communication, lack of transparency, and questionable billing practices. Unresponsive: He was routinely slow to respond—or didn’t respond at all—unless it involved payment. Communication was nearly nonexistent, even when physically present at the courthouse at the same time. Poor business practices: There were no written agreements or contracts, no itemized statements or invoices despite repeated requests, and no documentation to clarify services rendered. Financial misconduct concerns: He requested an additional $20,000 allegedly to hire a private investigator. No investigator was ever hired, and instead he attempted to use that money to pay himself for visiting the crime scene—a task that had already been covered. Lack of preparation: At trial, he was caught off-guard by case details he should have known. Had he actually hired the PI or effectively communicated with his client, none of this would have come as a surprise. Unethical follow-through: After termination, he refused to share the client file with the new attorney—despite multiple requests my me and new attorney. Many of the tasks he promised to complete were never followed through. It is my opinion that this demonstrates a clear pattern of neglect and disregard for ethical obligations. Proceed with CAUTION- If you’ve had a similar experience, consider filing a grievance with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel. Clients deserve better.

Walter Madison is a great attorney he is understanding and he work all for you when he represent you I was looking at 6 to 9 years after doing 4 years Walter Madison work as my lawyer and got me probation and I had over 10 felonies he got some drop and he got the degree on some of my felonies drop from 2 to 3 he did a wonderful job I would recommend him to everyone use Walter Madison as your attorney if in need of a lawyer thank you Walter Madison for your help Ichea Fitzgerald

He took money to file a judicial Release. He never filed the motion, and gave every excuse as to why the motion wa never filed. As we were trying to be in contact, he stopped accepting phone calls from family. A greviance was filed the Ohio bar, and he lied to them about his previous client not responding, and kept the money. DO NOT GO THROUGH this man!

Weak he came to court and did nothing for me

Worst attorney ever. You should never advise your client to take the stand when the burden rests on the state. This guy will lose the case and find some excuse via the Bible.

These positive reviews must be from his friends, family or people he knows because his actions are the direct opposite. First of all how is he even a lawyer honestly, because he couldn't be any more dishonest. This man deserves no stars a out right scam artist took my money and didn't represent me in any way, shape or form. Where in America does he think he can take people's money and literally do no work for it. It was like I said here is some free money, but I assure you he doesn't deserve one penny because he never acted on my behalf. At all just took my money and played games and strung me along.Until this very day August 22, 2022. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my money back, because I represented myself in court due to his negligence. But he has my money in his pocket for not representing me makes no sense Mr. Madison I want my $1200 today you know you don't deserve, you didn't work for it.

I payed this man to work on my brother case. Once he got the money he never did any work or bothered to reached out to my brother that’s currently locked up. This went on for a year and some months. Every time I spoken to him he had every excuse on why he didn’t have any movement on the case. It got to the point where this man wouldn’t even answer our calls. I had to have my lil sister send a email and act like she was interested in a job position in order for him to reach out and us to speak to him several times. Then after my family seen he just wasn’t tryna work on the case he agree to take on we asked for our money back. Then that took months to receive because he kept spinning us. If I could give this man 0 stars I would!

This This guy is amazing from beginning to end very knowledgeable his skills are exceptional i highly recommend this guy the hard part is affording his services however hes worth the pocket

Mr. Madison is fairly professional, but I kind of feel like a number when it comes to how he's handling my case. He even got me worried that he wouldn't show up to court as he isn't the greatest at keeping in touch. Still, he does produce results, and you get what you pay for.
