Mr Borrelli represented me on a misdemeanor case that had the potential to have a significantly negative impact on my personal and professional lives. He took my case after I was dissatisfied with my previous representation. The difference was more than appreciable. Mr. Borrelli worked above and beyond my expectations. He started by asking for an initial interview, during which I had the chance to explain my side of the story. He gave me all the time that I needed, and recorded all of my thoughts and leanings. He then explained how the case would be expected to go based on his very significant experience, highlighting general trends and expectations for this sort of case. Finally, he fought extremely hard for the desired outcome, pushing back against initial deals that he didn't think were fair or consistent with expected norms. He was ultimately able to resolve the case with what I thought was the best case scenario, in a context that was very difficult and challenging. I would add two notes here: 1] Although Mr Borrelli now works on the side of the defense, he previously had a long history on the prosecution's side, which gives him not only unique perspectives on their thinking but has also afforded him good contacts and relationships that facilitate negotiation and compromise with them. 2] Mr Borrelli was the second lawyer that I hired on my case, after I was dissatisfied with my intiital attorney. The difference in effort was very apparent. He really did fight hard to achieve our desired result, and went above and beyond in terms of pushing against initial deals offered, and arguing passionately for the result that he felt was the most fair. Michael and his associate Andrew Spatz are the best you can get for any sort of criminal conviction. They’re really knowledgeable of the law, experienced, have close ties to the courts, judges, district attorneys etc. But most of all, they were able to get me out of a criminal conviction as they anticipated and just about guaranteed they would, when I signed my retainer letter (engagement letter). Andrew is really going to give it to you straight, making sure as clients/suspects we do what we are supposed to do in the intern while the court process plays out. Otherwise Michael really knows his criminal law, having served for the District Attorneys office for many years. He will really fight to get the best deal he can for his clients but most of all his knowledge of the system, organized and closes the case with a very detailed and instructional disengagement/conclusion of services letters. He is also very present and there for any questions at anytime, guiding through the process in a very comforting way.
