I have tried calling over and over, and even called right at 8AM on the dot. I got through and then was transferred to someone so rude. She never told me her name, which does not surprise me. I asked to set up a payment plan, and she would say “One sec” and then hang up on me, or give me the automated message that there were too many callers, even though it was 8AM, who is calling the OAG office at 8AM other than me? This is unbelievable and a just a huge scam. These people need to be either re-trained or fired.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office took my entire tax refund with absolutely no notification or warning. I’m a single father who receives no assistance and no help from the state, no child support mom is incarcerated, yet somehow they had no problem seizing my and my daughters money without even the courtesy of a letter, email, or phone call beforehand. There was zero transparency, zero communication, and zero consideration for the financial impact this would have on my child and me. Taking someone’s tax refund without clear notice or explanation is unacceptable. If you’re going to enforce collections, at least have the decency to properly inform people first. Completely disappointed in how this was handled. This place steals money and calls it an offset I’m sure il get a letter one day in regards to said tax money that’s not coming

I can’t express how useless the consumers complaint service is. They should consider hiring folks with at least a high school level education.

Some people who work here shouldn't work with the public based on some of my interactions over the phone.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. I have never in my life be transferred so many times during a phone call and get no where. I was simply trying to see what the balance was as our account was adjusted by the Ohio taxation department and no one could pull the account and or tell me. Apparently I don’t have a balance because these incompetent agencies can’t get their operations in order.

I haven't lived on Ohio since 2019. Everybeyer they claim my school taxes are being offset. How?? My children haven't gone to school there since 2018. An if you off set my taxes every year how the heck is that even a thing?? Like just checked again and sure enough ohio school taxes is offset my refund. Like how the heck can someone honestly owe school taxes for 7 years when they haven't been living there ??? It's unrealistic.

I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. I'VE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES WITH ONLINE PRUCHASE PROBLEM. THE DO A VERY GOOD JOB FOLLOW UP.

We are now over $11,000 in the hole from a crooked car lot. We bought the car in September for $5,000, piad over $6000 in repairs and we still cant drive it! We are now completely broke! We currently have 3 loans on this damn car, and this stupid clown has done NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! . I was told someone would call me in 10 days to hear my complaint, 4 days later I get an email saying they ruled in the car lots favor. Seriously? They didn't ask me anthing! I still have all the proof in my phone to where the car lot lied to me. What a complete joke!! This is what we voted for?? Unbelievable garbage!!!

It's nearly impossible to get someone on the phone for toll collections. The wait times are 30+ minutes and if you choose the call back feature it will call you back, then when it asks you to press 1 to speak to the person it doesn't register that you press 1. This has been going on for over a year. I've complained about it multiple times. Forgot to mention that I tried getting online to take care of this, and their website isn't even working. What a dumpster fire this whole organization is.

i make great money but when you look at the per capita of residents of Ohio, the costs charged to people with interest accruing is dispicable. The services in the United States give insight of how this government does not truly support its people nor allocate funds properly. The debt that i had was related to a debt from a public university which i never got in the mail, and they sent to an old address, even though the address on file at the university was current and correct. pursuing my education as a health care provider empowers me to be of use to my community and is a noble cause, yet they will add interest almost the entire price of the initial charge. its just exploitation of the people/working class. shameful behavior.

Review is solely about the online search platform for consumer complaints. The search function is seriously flawed.and has been for quite some time. Try it, but you have to hunt for it on their site. If a business has multiple locations, you must request them separately. That should be a sign about the importance the AG’s office places on business complaints. Prepare to spend some time entering various combinations to get at least something to be found. Don’t just assume no complaints were submitted. Using a business name doesn’t always work; you may have luck entering city, state and or type of business. It’s insulting to consumers who fund this “search.” Searching for a complaint shouldn’t require multiple attempts and combinations to crack the “code.”

They are running scams on people, using collection agencies to collect inflated debt numbers without proper documentation. They will double charge you, saying you haven't paid when you have. Rude service, broken systems. Complain to the representative in your Ohio district.
