I am a grandmother raising my grandson. I noticed him struggling in kindergarten and first grade, but second grade really became a struggle when reading became more independent for him as a student. I had started talking to the school in first grade and was told it was still early to wait till second grade. In second grade he was involved with what they call a problem-solving team. It is a group of Administrators our school gets together and talk about the child and decide on different things that need to happen without your input. He struggled extremely hard that year, and we finally started a 504 plan because I pushed . Homework was taking us at least an hour and what should have been a 30 minute or less time, and he was crying every afternoon. He had passing grades that year but only because of the 504 that have been put in place, and s t i l l those grades were barely passing. As time progressed I noticed he was having issues with other things. I was informed to ask for a visual and auditory learning processing disorder test because they do not tell you that they offer them. I did so and he did not meet requirements for the visual by just a couple points and met qualifications for the auditory but the school refused to provide the Necessities needed for him to succeed. They tried to make me believe they did not have to do it because it was a medical disorder as well. Which is not true. They refused to help do the therapy for it are the assisted technology assistance device with apps for it. I was at my Wednesday and fighting a school board with money and used to pushing their way around. I contacted a therapy center thinking I would have to pay for it, but they talked to me about Shane. He is extremely professional, caring, to the point, knowledgeable, and extremely comforting. I lived over an hour away from him, and he still took the case. We had our first Zoom meeting within a couple of weeks. He had the case and settlement after that first meeting. He got the school to do testing of High Caliber with an outside source that is highly reputable. You would think that was the end of the case even though you sign papers at that point that the case is over. He goes A step above and beyond that. Once I get the test results I am to send him a copy within 3 days for him to look at. If that does not look like what we had talked about and had planned he steps right back in and picks up where he left off. He does this forever well not forever but typically a child's IEP can last through college. He has been a blessing and taken so much stress off of me. If you're looking for someone who is thorough and tough as nails if they need to be, but also works well within the system this would be the man for you and most importantly your child. Call Shane Sears! I promise you won't regret it!

Mr.Sears was recommended by a close friend when we were having trouble with our children's old school, he came in like a wrecking ball to do right by our children and get them the things they needed to help with their education, mental stability, their wellness and health. But what made us truly stick with him was he genuinely concerned about our children, checked on them constantly during the process and still continues to check on them today. Very knowledgeable and sincere but most of all he understands what you're going thru and is there to help with an open mind and open arms. Thank you Sir for everything you've done for this family. Grateful Parents Joe and Shannon Stapleton

Shane Sears has done an incredible job of advocating for our needs in the most timely manner I’ve ever experienced from an attorney. Literal, instant results. Very impressionable, knowledgeable and thorough. Came highly recommended and I am glad to say the same. Literal life saver.

Excellent attorney with the experience that matters in education law. Mr. Sears listened and executed immediately on behalf of our mutual client. He had an indepth understanding of IDEA, its implications in regards to school systems not providing FAPE and the need for urgency. I would recommend him to anyone!

Best attorney out there! He helped my child who is on an IEP plan. He made sure everything was being followed on the IEP plan and brought out answers I was looking for that I could never get from the school and he also requested extra support to be implemented into my child’s IEP plan and made it happen. I was so stressed and always crying until I met Shane he is a life saver and I’m grateful for everything he has done for me and my child. This is who you need to contact people!!

Shane is an amazing attorney who is arguably the best attorney in Alabama. What makes him great is his passion for doing things the right way and exposing individuals, school employees, school boards, CSFO, special education directors, school board attorneys, .....for who they really ARE “behind the curtain.” Thank you Shane! He exposed Brett McGill, Mike Owens, Tom Sisk, Trey Holliday, Kim Hubbard, Brad Lewis, and Earl Glaze as thieves and liars. Thank you Shane! You busted them! Shane is a Five Star attorney because he has earned it!
