EDIT: Elizabeth called me and sincerely apologized. While I still have grounds to move on with a different firm, I appreciate her actions. It takes guts to do what she did, and she earned a lot of my respect back. I believe she is a good person. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My interactions with Tolley & Brooks Law Firm began on 9/25/25 after a referral from Nyman Turkish, who suggested them due to proximity and their ability to handle my case more intimately. First contacts: 9/25/2025 10/03/2025 10/10/2025 10/15/2025 10/16/2025 (By this time, preliminary paperwork was completed and mailed back in. Attorney Elizabeth Rose called, and we secured her access to SSA.gov so she could file on my behalf.) During the first few weeks, communication focused on consent forms and basic paperwork. I completed and returned everything immediately and provided SSA.gov access because I believed Elizabeth’s experience would help ensure the application was worded properly and, in turn, improve my chances of approval. After two weeks of waiting, I followed up on 10/31/2025 and was told by Marilyn, “Let me touch base with Elizabeth and I’ll call you back.” No call back. I called again on 11/04/2025 and 11/07/2025 — same response, no call back. As you'll see below, this became a pattern and was essentially the extent of my communication with Tolley & Brooks over five months. On 11/07/2025, Marilyn mentioned there “may have been a miscommunication” about my phone number. I’ve only ever had one number, and they had previously used it successfully on 10/10/2025, so.. Your guess is as good as mine. 11/13/2025 — I called again. No call back. 12/01/2025 — I called and was told I’d receive a call back. None came. 12/03/2025 — They called, but we did not connect. I must've not noticed the missed call because the next contact was on 12/30/2025 when I reached out again. 01/05/2026 — I called, received a call back six hours later but missed it. I returned the call three hours after that and briefly spoke with someone for 3 minutes. I'm unsure what transpired on this call. 01/30/2026 — I called and was told my application had been submitted on 10/16/2025 and we were simply waiting on SS's decision. 02/03/2026 — I called to confirm whether it was submitted on 10/16 or 12/16 because I thought I misheard. This is important information because, typically, these applications take anywhere from 3-6 months to receive a decision. Knowing precisely when mine was submitted would give me a better idea of when I should be expecting a decision. Marilyn again affirmed “10/16/2025.” 02/04/2026 & 02/16/2026— Out of curiosity, I logged into SSA.gov and discovered no application had been submitted. This was OVER FOUR MONTHS after my first contact. The 10/16/2025 date repeatedly given to me was when an application was started — not completed. I called and shared this information. Marilyn seemed shocked and again said she would contact Elizabeth and call me back. No call back. 02/20/2026 — I called again. Same response. No call back. 02/25/2026 — After speaking with my local SS office, who confirmed there was no recent disability application (only my denied 2023 filing), I informed Marilyn I would be taking my business elsewhere in a polite yet stern manner. TL;DR: Communication was extremely poor — probably the worst I’ve experienced with any business. Reception repeatedly assured me things were being handled, yet no application was ever submitted. I spoke with my lawyer only once in those five months, during our 29-minute call to verify SSA.gov access. I returned paperwork immediately, remained cooperative and polite, and missed only two calls (returning one near-immediately). There appears to be a serious internal disconnect, and I do not feel I received the "they care about their clients" treatment you see in other Google reviews here. Do I think they're bad people? No, not at all. Do I think my case should've been handled better? Absolutely. Maybe I'm a statistical anomaly, but this was my experience, and I hope others have a better one. Kindly, Ryan

I would highly recommend this law firm. I had a very good experience with them. They're compassionate and also very knowledgeable. 5 stars from me for sure. Update, they settled my Workers Comp case. If I could give 6 stars I would. Best law firm in Arkansas!

If you are looking for a good professional lawyer then this is the place to call. And the receptionist Mrs Florence is super nice and helpful. They will do the best they can to help you win your case and she's pretty successful at doing that.

Response from owner

Jeff, I know you are frustrated but this is not an accurate description of our conversation. When you called in yesterday, you told me nobody else would speak with you about your case. I was trying to offer you some free advice on organizations that help with job training and placement. You hung up on me before we could finish our conversation. It's upsetting you felt the need to give our firm a 1 star review when you didn't let me finish what I was saying and I was simply trying to give you some options. I wish you the best and hope you find the help you are looking for.

They are very busy so a little tough to get on the phone at times but they always come through in the end and have answered any and all questions I've ever asked. Same rates as any other ssdi attorney out there but very friendly. I've no experience to compare them with others but have zero regrets and would choose again if I ever needed to, most definitely. Would also positively refer them to any of my friends or family that might need this type of representation.

My experience with Tolley and Brooks was very positive. I filled out all applications sent to me by Social Security, which took several months of various correspondences. Tolley and Brooks handled and monitored all other paperwork with SS, and checked in with me with any notices concerning due dates and deadlines. It turned out to be a very seamless application process. If I ever had questions or concerns, Tolley and Brooks were responsive and easy to talk to. They were detailed oriented. I received an approval on my disability case in less than a year without appeals or complications. I would recommend Tolley and Brooks for anyone applying for disability. Thank you.

We've been using Tolley and Brooke's Law firm to help us navigate our daughters disability case for about 7 years. They have helped us with appeals, legal questions, and given us advice when needed. I HIGHLY recommend them and I trust them fully. We'll definitely be using them in the future if needed. 👍👍
