Chris is fantastic! I initially hired another lawyer firm, then fired them after I realized I was pawned off on who was most likely a recent graduate. I fired them and was lucky to Google Chris. Chris did not take advantage of me, and in my opinion, he isn't charging ENOUGH for his legal knowledge and expertise!

I am leaving this review not from the perspective of a client, but from the perspective of a union organizer. One of my coworkers was facing termination of employment from a governmental employer, so we decided to find her an employment attorney to fight back. Ultimately, we ended up reaching out to Van Hall, based on a referral from another legal team. I was not directly involved in the meetings with Van Hall, or with the subsequent hearing, but I did assist a good deal with some of the email communications. I can say for sure that Chris was very responsive, detailed, and, best of all, eager to represent my coworker due to the union aspect of her case. Though the actions of our employer had made me coworker very anxious for several weeks, the representation of Van Hall instilled in her a good deal of confidence, which then transferred to the rest of the union as well. We felt that our coworker would indeed keep her job. And she did. She had her hearing with Chris representing her, she waited several weeks for a response, and then she was informed that she would be retaining her employment. She returned to work within two days. It was incredible. I am so stoked that we decided to contact Van Hall, and I hope Chris knows that we will absolutely keep him in mind should anymore shenanigans arise with our employer and we need a lawyer.

I was referred to Van Hall Employment Law by another law team when I was seeking representation for a hearing with my employer. I work in the public sector and am currently part of an ongoing union campaign, so we needed exactly the right attorney who was comfortable doing employment law for public sector workers. Christopher Van Hall ended up being the exact right attorney for this. We were able to meet fairly quickly, we discussed the details of my case, and we discussed some of the potential outcomes of my hearing, such as keeping my job vs getting severance. While severance seemed a more likely bet, I told him that I really wanted to keep my job and stay with my team/union. He spelled out for me some of the things that could potentially go wrong with that, but also agreed to represent me toward that end. Within a matter of about two weeks (maybe it was much less time than that), I met with Chris, filled him in with all the information he needed to represent me, and then together we went into that hearing. A few weeks after that hearing, I learned that, thanks to Chris' representation, I would be keeping my job. Two days after learning that, I was indeed back on the schedule and working. Throughout this whole process, Chris listened to me, was very caring and diligent, and seemed really excited by the prospect of representing me in this hearing, given the union aspect of it all. I cannot recommend Van Hall Employment Law enough, and I know my union is going to keep him on speed dial going forward!
