We cannot recommend this organization, we hired a member attorney and the experience was very negative, from almost start to finish when we released them. We called a few other member attorneys. The knowledge base was very limited, and concerningly wrong in conversations with potential attorneys on more than one occasion, and on one occasion with a paralegal. It was disarming and alarming. Vermont is very small, not very competitive and options limited. I would recommend hiring from a larger firm out of state that has staff attorneys who are admitted in VT. Hopefully this changes, for Vermonters and those seeking legal services in VT. There is a miles long difference between capabilities and abilities and desire to be capable and able, from ethics to knowledge base, between attorneys in VT and more populated states. There is also an egotistical snobbery, in part because the state is so small, that does not get checked. It's almost if they come to VT to partly retire and not be true advocates or do any real work, and advance and evolve true justice, whatever that may be. They are also very unethically greedy, which is everywhere, but there is no foil to this in VT with more ethical practitioners and or firms, it is only greed based law, from the sole practitioner to the larger firms. Again due to the low population, there are less options and the ones there are the predominant ones in the field, greedy, not driven by high morality and standard / competence for themselves and clients, passionate - cause driven who knows, values, seeks the meaning in their work. A good attorney who is a true advocate is in the minority of the field.
