I was provided with a referral to Attorney Wiest by both my public attorney and an out-of-state attorney. I received a return call this morning, and I was taken aback by the extreme lack of professionalism in the interaction. The attorney seemed entirely unconcerned with maintaining courtesy, effective communication, or even maintaining a civil tone of voice. Instead, he frequently interrupted me, urging me to hurry while I was speaking. When I attempted to discuss other individuals involved in the situation, he abruptly dismissed my comments. When I requested respectful treatment, he promptly interrupted me again, accusing me of cutting him off. He went on to declare that he was not representing me but proceeded to deliver a lecture on how to communicate with an attorney. I want to emphasize that I have never encountered such behavior from an attorney before. If this attitude persists, I believe it is essential to provide a review to safeguard others from similar unpleasant encounters. Nobody should endure treatment that devalues their humanity, and I regret allowing him to speak to me in such a disrespectful manner. During the call, he even admitted that I may come across as harsh, but he didn't care, as that's his preferred approach.
