I called the office in a panic and left a message. I thought there was no way anyone would call until after the weekend, but he called me that day. On the recommendation of a close relative, I reached out to WSM following injuries to my neck and shoulder that I sustained in a 2020 auto accident. From the initial consultation until the final step in the settlement process, I was treated with respect, honesty and compassion. Mr. Schreiber and his staff kept me informed, were incredibly accessible and were patient with my busy schedule. I always felt comfortable asking questions and voicing my concerns. My husband and I adopted two boys from birth. After a few years, we learned that the birth family was riddled with cases of bipolar and schizophrenia. We knew then that we likely would be facing a lot of mental illness issues with our sons, and, unfortunately, that has been true. We knew that we would need at least one special needs trust, so we sought an attorney to do that. The first attorney really seemed to have everything down to a system that worked for her, but did not tailor the trusts to our needs. Similarly, the second attorney started out by mailing us someone else's trusts; that should have been a sign for us to quit working with this firm, but sadly, we did not. Twelve thousand dollars later, we still had nothing. In desperation, I thought hard about who to try next. Tom Wolpert was my hard-working study partner in law school, and suddenly it occurred to me to call him. He graduated first in a class of 500 students; I am kicking myself for not thinking of hiring Tom sooner. Although our trusts have not been finalized yet, I can say most assuredly that Tom Wolpert was the guy to call. The drafts he sent us are far more detailed than anything else we were given, and he has tailored his work to what our disabled adult sons will need. Contrary to the previous attorneys we hired, Tom is very reasonable in his charges. Had I hired Tom first, we would have saved thousands of dollars. On top of that, we finally are getting exactly what we wanted! I know a lot of parents with special needs children. I hope to cause an onslaught of requests for special needs trusts for Wolpert Schreiber McDonnell. More than anyone else, they know what they are doing! I knew this years ago when Tom and I were in law school together, and I relearned the lesson this year: Tom Wolpert is the best attorney you can hire, whatever your needs. No one is as diligent or caring as Tom.
